Staff were not knowledgeable and could only do the basics required for check-in. Dinner and breakfast were assembled as none of the staff could do more than make rice in rice cooker. Staff dressed more casual than tourists. There is Aeon nearby too. The hotel needs to improve the cleanliness and sound proofing. We are lucky just stay 1 night. Elevator is not available. The room is suited to people younger and smaller than us. Staff were friendly and carried our bags up to the room for us. Beds were too hard for us (we like firm) and chairs too short for comfort. The toiletseat was toosmall for a large male. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. The room we stayed is not a ¥65.000 room It is a lay. The staff service was not good, besides the fact that nobody was in the front desk, you have to call them (bell) every time. Very unprofessional. My family and I often go to Yufuin.
