The Hotel Garibaldi

The Hotel Garibaldi

8/10 Good
"Our room was clean and good size. Just the bed was a bit uncomfortable. It seemed to sag, as me and my husband seemed to end up in the middle of the bed together. It was hard to stay on a side. Breakfast was good. The staff very friendly and helpful. Going to eat was a challenge. It seemed some places were out of business or closed. Not the hotel's fault but wanted to mention."

"Front desk staff were ultra awesome! They totally made the experience :-) BTW, the bed was super fluffy...I normally wake up 2-5 times per night and I didn't wake up once while sleeping here. I would do it again just to sleep in the bed."

Garibaldi Inn at the Bay

Garibaldi Inn at the Bay

8/10 Good
"We were only staying for 1 night with our dog. The room was clean and had the essentials. I will say that the rooms and outside of the property could use some updates. We ran the fan in our room and it was pretty loud and it sounded like a plastic bag was inside of the unit. The WiFi was very spotty and didn’t work well. The bed was comfortable. For what we paid for the night it didn’t really seem worth the price but it was the cheapest option available for the dates we went."

Frequently asked questions

How much does a beach hotel in Oceanside cost?
Prices for beach hotels in Oceanside vary, but you can find a great deal from CA $131 on Expedia. You're likely to find lower rates if you're travelling during the off-peak season or mid-week. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for our cheapest rates.
Which area of Oceanside is best to stay in for beaches?
The best area to stay in Oceanside for beaches is Oceanside Village itself, as it's the primary settlement directly on the coast.Oceanside Village is a small, compact community located against the cliffs, offering immediate access to the sand. The main feature is the large, sandy beach directly in front of the village, popular for strolling and beachcombing. You'll find most of the village's accommodations, a few local eateries, and the entrance to the "Tunnel Through the Rock" leading to Agate Beach, all within a short walk. For couples looking for a relaxed beach holiday, Oceanside Village is ideal. You can easily spend your days on the main beach, explore tide pools, or take a romantic walk through the tunnel to Agate Beach, enjoying the natural beauty without needing to drive anywhere. The small size of the village means everything is close at hand.Families with children will also find Oceanside Village very suitable. The main beach offers plenty of space for kids to play, build sandcastles, and splash in the waves.
What is the best time of year to stay in a beach hotel in Oceanside?
The most popular time to stay in a beach hotel in Oceanside is during the summer months, particularly July and August. The weather is at its warmest and sunniest then, with average temperatures hovering around 20-22°C, making it ideal for enjoying the beach and ocean activities.During this peak season, Oceanside truly comes alive, with families and couples making the most of the long, bright days. It's a fantastic time for building sandcastles, swimming in the Pacific, or simply relaxing on the shore. Many local businesses extend their hours, and you'll find a lively buzz around the pier and beachfront promenades. For those who enjoy a vibrant coastal atmosphere and guaranteed good beach weather, this is the great time. For a slightly different, yet equally rewarding, experience, May presents a wonderful alternative. While the temperatures are a bit cooler, typically ranging from 15-18°C, the weather is still pleasant for coastal walks and exploring the tide pools. In May, you may find better value on beach hotels and it can be easier to secure reservations for popular dining spots overlooking the ocean.
What beach activities should we do in Oceanside?
The best beach activities in Oceanside revolve around exploring the natural beauty of the coastline, particularly near Maxwell Point and the Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge.Couples looking for a relaxing yet adventurous day out will enjoy exploring the tunnel through Maxwell Point at low tide. This tunnel leads to a more secluded part of the beach, offering stunning views of the Pacific and an opportunity to observe the diverse marine life in the tide pools. Remember to check tide times carefully to ensure you can pass through the tunnel.Families often gravitate towards the main beach area in front of the village. It's a great spot for building sandcastles, flying kites, and simply enjoying the expansive views. The calmer waters here are suitable for younger children to paddle, and the proximity to local cafes means refreshments are always close by.For those interested in wildlife, a walk along the beach provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching, especially near the Three Arch Rocks. This wildlife refuge is home to thousands of seabirds, including common murres and puffins, and is also a haul-out site for Steller sea lions.
