"Peaceful, friendly down-home vibe unlike any other. Homey, safe, family feel in every way. Love what the ‘new’ owners are doing to improve and honor the traditions of this very historic retreat. I came here first as a child, before the old hotel burned, and have known it through the decades. We will be back! Thank you, Sandy and partners! 💙"

"I absolutely loved this place! It was rustic and charming. The check-in was so easy, as was check-out. Communication from the owners was terrific. The location was quiet and it was nice to sit on the porch and listen to the creek. The outside of the cabins might need a little TLC.
The bonus was the history of this place! People used to come from all over in the late 1800's and early 1900's to drink water from the spring, which was said to have healing properties. The hotel that used to be there burned down, but the cabins remain. What was cool was that I read about Healing Springs (the old hotel) in a museum display years ago and it was such a a cool surprise to learn that these cabins are one in the same. I would definitely stay here again and I've already recommended it to friends.
Oh! And you can go get yourself some water from the spring while you're there!"

"Very relaxing much needed vacation. This house is very well stocked. Location to river is excellent. Traffic was more than we expected but there was construction going on in the area. Wildlife was great. We saw deer, geese, bald eagles, and fish. The sitting deck had to be rid of webs quite often but that comes with the territory. Sheets on some beds did not fit correctly giving impression of not being changed but were clean. Not a "perfect" location for physically challenged walking but can be managed if care taken. Would love to come back!"
"This was the PERFECT stay in the mountains of NC. The farmhouse was so cute and put together well for our stay-we even had farm fresh eggs! I loved having a laundry room as well. The stocked game shack for the kids did not disappoint either. What a clever addition! The property is absolutely beautiful. You can hike to the summit and other parts of the farm for breathtaking mountain views. One evening, we were lucky enough to see fireflies taking over the night sky on one of the trails. We did not leave the farm too often because there was a good bit of exploring we were able to do there. We also enjoyed mornings filled with deer right by the farmhouse and the sounds of the babbling creek next door. Our kids even saw some crawdads in the creek! The owners, Ken and his family, were kind enough to let our kids pick blueberries by the main driveway and that was a special treat as well. The property has so many beautiful flowers to discover too.We can’t recommend this place enough. These are great hosts and we appreciated meeting them during our stay. We look forward to returning and seeing what else they do with the farm!"
New River Views & Access - Hot Tub, Gazebo, Fire Pit, Next to Riverside Canoeing!
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great time at the cottage! Before check-in we went out kayaking from Riverside Canoe and check-in was smooth, the cottage smelled fresh and was nice and cool on a hot summer day.We enjoyed the hot tub and hanging out on the front porch in the rocking chairs, an all around super relaxing visit. It is tiny but the layout is great, we had 3 adults and a large dog and didn't feel cramped at all."
"I’ve been delayed in reviewing our stay at the Tree House because in my mind, we’re still there! Talk about relaxing, a true getaway, even though we were active from sun up to sun down. Everything about our stay was perfect. Ken was the ultimate communicator, so friendly, accommodating, and available for any questions. He and his wife, plus their children, greeted us upon arrival and during our stay and even shared her homemade bread! The area is beautiful, 84 acres that felt like it was all ours. We brought our two small, apartment dwelling dogs with us and they’ve never been happier. The pictures of the property give a really accurate depiction of the property, but nothing compares to being there! We’ve gushed over the Tree House to anyone who will listen and are planning to go back again. Thanks again, Ken! We are so happy we found you! "
