I regret staying at the Puffin Inn. The hairdryer did not work, the television did not have a signal, the faucet in the bathroom sink was loose, the mechanism to open and close the window was broken, it was impossible to turn the heat off, and the doors to the bathroom and the outside both stuck. When I brought this to the management’s attention, they said they only had one maintenance worker for their 80 rooms. Yet at the same time, they are remodeling some of their rooms and raising the price of course when they do so. It seems likely they do not want to waste expense on rooms that are going to be remodeled anyway. On the bright side, the room, those small, was clean, and the sheets were clean as well on the bed. I did not consider it to be good value for the money, although it was conveniently located near the airport.

I chose this location for the price. All Anchorage hotels are very very expensive, and so was this one, but it was the best choice based on location and reviews. It was nice that they had free hot breakfast. The rooms were large, and clean. Nothing glamorous, but it was fine for an overnight stay before a cruise

The room was old but clean. The elevator was old and smelly and it would slind a smooth arrival to the requested floor
