"Planned a short getaway to hike Mount Mitchell and this place could not have been more perfectly located to the trailhead. The Lodge is newly built, and ground are impeccably well maintained. The staff was super helpful. They even came by to drop off a lighter so the firepit could be put to use. They have a common use area with a ktichen and grills that can be utilized which is an added bonus as I don’t recall reading about all they had available to make the stay above and beyond expectations....

"Our family of 13 (with kids and grandkids) loved our time at this property. We had a rainy weekend and had plenty of fun at the house and grounds.The house itself is complicated with regard to layout. The bedrooms in the guest house had their own bathrooms as did the king bedroom. The other three bedrooms, all in the main house, have a separate hallway with several bathrooms and toilets that serve the whole house. This actually worked fine but might be difficult for elderly or children under 5.This is a great destination property with so many ways to enjoy your stay. Highlights were the hot tub, a great gameroom (which doubles as a theater room), fantastic outdoor fireplace with chimney (with ample wood on hand to burn), access to the Toe River on the property. I could go on. There was a lot of open field space around the house which our 6 grandkids used constantly for soccer and volleyball. There is a lot to do in the area, but there is plenty to do if you want to stay put. The hosts/owners were always quick to respond to any needs and we felt a deep sense of welcome. We hope to visit again in the future."

"We booked this cabin for the peaceful and relaxing vibe it gave to us. The cabin was clean and everything we needed was there for us to use. Parking area was great and we loved the back gazebo area where we sat and watched the creek go by. Unfortunately, one night, we had unexpected severe weather come through due to the remnants of Hurricane Isaias, and it knocked the internet out, which left us nervous because we had no contact in or out, and the decision was made for us to leave and find a hotel for the night. The internet was still off the next day which was fine because we went to Asheville for the day. Due to the unforseen situation with the weather, and having to leave for the night, Mr Ron offered us that night as a refund. He also offered us an extended stay for free if we wanted it, but we both had to be back at work the day after checkout. He has gone above and beyond what we expected, we appreciated the way he kept in touch with us over the situation, and the courtesy and professionalism shown to us was exceptional. We want to revisit and hopefully enjoy the whole time there at the cabin."

"Very much enjoyed our stay in Burnsville. The mountain cabin was just as described and was a great get-away from hustle and bustle of daily lives. The place was spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and was clean and neat with things pretty well organized. The kitchen was well equipped and made for easy meal prep and cleanup. Even though suggested to bring many of our own supplies, there were ample supplies there if needed or if you forgot something. The back porch and fire pit was a great place to sit, enjoy the scenery and relax at the end of the day. Our host was excellent from the start with clear directions for check in and quick to respond as questions arose during our stay. All in all the Burnsville mountain cabin was terrific and would definitely come back if needing future retreat in that area!"
