The retreat provides an awesome communal cooking arrangement steps away from the beautiful view of the Black Mountains. The location was fantastic and a great option to the standard hotel view. The main area was difientely picture perfect if you are looking to unwind and relax. You have to book the message off site - the numbers are in the handbook - I would suggest doing it before your trip as they may not be available during your stay. The only thing was I was not sure if I read there were roaming dogs While I was booking which makes sense to keep other animals at bay. I was bitten by a dog in the past so I have a fear of dogs and as I was exiting my car, I see a very big dog running and barking coming my way - I froze in place my husband started to pet the dog and it turns out he is very friendly. I stayed in Pisgah and the room was very spacious, ridiculously clean (cleaner than many of the nice chain hotels I have stayed at), and super cute. It came with a white noise machine that was needed as you can hear your neighbors (I heard mine snoring). There is parking right next to the cabin. WiFi worked great. The biggest \*complaint\* was I never saw the resident dogs.
