The A/C cools the unit quickly and is a perfect spot to crash. Located in the center of the whole island, the location of the Zen Den is extremely desirable. Location Highlights: \-8 min to Acadia National Park \[Cadillac Mountain Entrance\] \-9 min to Echo Lake Beach \-14 min to Downtown Bar Harbor \-The entire unit is private to you only, the only shared space is the Laundry Room that is shared with a neighboring unit. The town is rich in history, with the Somesville Museum & Gardens preserving its legacy as the first European settlement on the island. Despite its quiet, residential nature, Somesville is centrally located, providing easy access to both Acadia National Park and the surrounding towns of Mount Desert Island. Whether you’re drawn to its historic charm, scenic landscapes, or peaceful waterfront, Somesville offers a serene retreat in one of Maine’s most treasured locations. Check out our Welcome Guide for info and recommendations on the area! The roadway next to the building is Maine State Route 102 that has traffic passing through at all hours. The speed limit on this road is 25MPH, and there is a possibility of noise from traffic to be heard in the unit, even at night. The location is really great for visiting both sides of the island. Quick drive to almost everything. The space is likely more accommodating for shorter/smaller guests, as I am a 6' male and I bumped my head a few times on the angled ceiling. Was in no way a deal breaker, however this limited my ability to stand tall in about 50% of the space. Great amenities with full service free laundry downstairs. Felt very safe and enjoyed the stay! Unfortunately, other guests did not respect the trash policy and dumped food and other waste directly into the bins outside, which smelled bad. I also think it would be nice if the yard space was a shared space, as I didn't see anyone taking advantage of the space during my stay, yet it was off limits for the zen den visitors. I think making the yard a shared space would encourage socializing and make for a more enjoyable experience. ##### Zachary B. Zen Den is a short drive from a number of amazing trails and the awe-inspiring views of Cadillac Mountain. It was a peaceful retreat for busy outdoor adventures. The space itself was cozy and well-equipped, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A highlight of our trip was discovering Peter Trout's Tavern & Inn - a must-visit for delicious food and warm hospitality. Overall, a fantastic getaway all around. This place is small but so cute and cozy and very clean! Had everything we needed. Was nice to have a place to do laundry. Location was a short drive to everywhere. Perfect place to stay if you will be out and about all day and just need a place to rest and recharge at night!
