"My room was actually fine and I loved the sea view and the hotel is clean. However, my daughter also booked to stay at this hotel and phoned in advance to ask about wheelchair accessibility. On arrival I was told she couldn't use the wheelchair accessible entrance because there was a wedding in progress. Surely wheelchair accessible entrances should be 24/7? And getting her to her room up the ramp on the 3rd floor was "challenging". The room itself wasn't big enough for her to use her wheelchair at all. I know it's an old building and they've made an effort but they could do better on this issue. "

"Clean room. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent amenities but unfortunately did not have time to enjoy them. Perhaps next time."

"4 night break meeting up with friends. The staff were all friendly and proactively helpful. We did not use the spa, but parking was okay and the two 22kW EV chargers a welcome bonus. Location was perfect for town centre. Weather was wet for much of the time but we found plenty to do within a reasonable distance. Would happily stay here again."

"The indoor spa was great. Staff were awesome as well - really professional. Can imagine it's great when the outdoor spa is open and during the summer. Some of the negatives...breakfast could do with some improvements, the ingredients tasted low quality some of the cooking was questionable (fried eggs for example). The place had a general feel of getting refurbished so felt hard done by paying full price... Our room (28) smelt like drains and the view was blocked by scaffolding. Also some mold in the corner right by the window. "

"There is always a difficulty with noise at the Strathmore, this time there were people shouting and swearing right outside at 5 and 6am, it made a change from it happening inside the building but it is still so frustrating when I'm paying money to stay there and it gets spoiled by noisy individuals every time"
