Find hotels in Montsales from CA $84

The best area to stay in Montsales is within the historic village centre, particularly around the Place de la Liberté.

This area is the heart of Montsales, characterised by its medieval architecture, narrow cobbled streets, and stone buildings. The Place de la Liberté is the main square, often bustling with local markets and outdoor cafes, and it's where you'll find the impressive Montsales Abbey. Most of the village's amenities, including restaurants, artisan shops, and the local boulangerie, are easily accessible on foot from here.

Couples often find this central village location ideal. It offers a romantic setting with picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely strolls through historic pathways. You're perfectly placed for enjoying evening meals at local eateries and experiencing the village's relaxed pace.

For those looking for a slightly more secluded experience while still being close to the village's offerings, the areas just outside the immediate village walls, particularly towards the Montsales River, are excellent.

The best time to visit Montsales is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasantly mild and the crowds are smaller.

During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, ideal for exploring the rolling hills and vineyards of the Occitanie region. The countryside is particularly beautiful in spring with everything in bloom, or in autumn when the leaves change colour and the grape harvest is underway. This allows for a more relaxed pace when visiting local markets or enjoying outdoor activities.

For those who prefer warmer weather and don't mind sharing the region with more visitors, July and August offer long, sunny days superb for enjoying the local lakes and rivers, or simply relaxing by a pool.
