About this property

Stunning Views, 35 Min to Yosemite, Private Pickleball, Fire Pit, Level 2 EV!

  • Your Sierra escape, 23 miles from Yosemite's Arch Rock entrance. Nine private acres, sweeping mountain views, a pickleball court, and a rock fire pit for starry nights. Highway 140's Merced River corridor gives reliable, all-season access through fall foliage. Solar backup, Starlink, and Level 2 EV charging keep you worry-free. Perfect for a fall getaway or a remote-work week with BBQ and pickleball breaks.

What You'll Love About This Place:

Your Own Pickleball Court, Sierra Views Included:
Set downhill from the house with 360° mountain panoramas as your backdrop, this private court is built for real matches. Pack your paddles—and if you're staying a few extra days, round up the group for a full-on tournament.

    Mountain Views From Every Angle:
Large windows in every room frame the Sierra range, so the view follows you from bed to back deck. Sunrise over the peaks is part of the daily routine here—no filter needed.

    Evenings Around the Fire Pit:
A custom rock fire pit anchors the backyard for evenings that run late under a sky thick with stars. No neighbors, no light pollution—just the Milky Way taking over as the mountains fade to black.

    Nine Acres, All Yours:
Deer and rabbits move through the property like it's their own—because for the most part, it is. Total seclusion, total quiet, nature doing the entertaining.

    A Kitchen Built for Cooking:
Fully updated with premium appliances: stainless cookware, Instant Pot, rice cooker, and a BBQ grill outside. Coffee people are covered too—an Oxo burr grinder, Hario V60 pour-over, and a Ninja machine are all on hand.

    Three Full Bathrooms:
The master suite pairs a king bed with its own soaking tub. The second bedroom has an ensuite with a tub/shower combo. A third, stand-in-shower bathroom off the main living space keeps everyone moving without a wait.

A Great Room Made for Unwinding:
Sonos sound, a wood stove for cooler nights, and a Roku TV in guest mode streaming over high-speed Starlink—modern comfort with a minimalist touch.

    Solar-Powered, Storm-Ready:
Solar panels and battery storage keep power running even through outages. A heat pump handles year-round comfort, and a Level 2 EV charger by the barn keeps your electric vehicle ready for the next adventure.

    Sleeping arrangements:

Bedroom 1 (Master): King bed, ensuite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: Queen bed plus a twin bunk, with its own ensuite. Note: this room isn't private — you'll walk through it to reach the Master Bedroom, so the layout suits one family best rather than multiple groups traveling together.
Living Room: Queen sofa bed, bedding included.

We supply all bedding and bath linens, plus body wash, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, toilet paper, tissues, paper towels, and trash bags. A washer and dryer are on-site for laundry. High-speed Starlink internet (300 Mbps) and a Level 2 EV charger (J1772 — Tesla, Rivian, and more) round things out.

    **Other Details To Note**

    Security Cameras:
Please note we have two exterior cameras for security purposes - one in front of the house facing the driveway and one at the gate as you enter the property.

    Drinking Water:
Our well water tastes great. It's double filtered through a whole house filter and there's a Brita filter in the kitchen for additional filtration. Please bring your reusable water bottles and save money and our planet. Thanks!

    Internet:
With Starlink Internet, you can combine work and play. On average we get 300MBPS down / 100MBPS up which is great for Zoom calls for your whole group.

    Electric Vehicle Charging (Additional Cost):
We have a standard level 2 EV charger that you can use to charge any EV for an additional cost. We will let you know exactly how much you used during your stay and charge you what the power company will charge us for KWH used at the end of your trip. Tesla owners, don’t forget to get your J1772 adapter!

    Pets:
We are pet-friendly and accept up to two pets. If you are bringing your pet, please let us know when you book. We charge an of $60/pet/stay for additional cleaning. Below are the house rules that you MUST follow:

    - Pet must be house broken
    - Pets are NOT allowed on any furniture or beds
    - Pet MUST NOT be left unattended at home anytime
    - You should pick up after the pet in and around the property

    Groceries & Restaurants:
Since we are between Mariposa and the Park, it would be convenient to do your groceries in Mariposa on the way to the home. Pioneer Market is open until 10:00 pm throughout the year. There’s also an organic country health food store that we love with lots of vegetarian options. They usually close at 7:30 PM.

There are a few nice restaurants in Mariposa that might require reservations during busy times of the year. None of them stay open super late, so please call ahead.

Great family location

My family and I had the opportunity to stay at this wonderful property in March. It was well maintained, clean, and had plenty of activities to pre-occupy my 2 boys (15 & 17), when we weren’t out at Yosemite hiking. It had great views and was perfect for our small family.

This review is long overdue. We stayed at this beautiful property in February. The home is beautiful and despite the rooms being connected very comfortably set up. Each room has its own entrance to the yard. We were able to stay by the fire at night, see the stars, and by day enjoyed the beautiful sunset. We took our two dogs who also enjoyed the space. The neighbors dogs did run along the fence and one was able to squeeze through to make it into the property, but we were able to pull the fence wire back. We also let the host know and they were attentive to the matter. Our overall stay was wonderful.

Comfortable house

The house size was very nice. But oddly you had to walk through one bedroom to get to the master bedroom. In an attempt to be helpful, I guess, the host left notes all over the house. Unfortunately, it felt like I had gone off to college and come home and mom was leaving me notes about the house rules. The property itself was nice with an amazing view, but the neighborhood was a little rundown with junk vehicles, etc. in the yards.

The property is very tastefully decorated. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with needed utensils and appliances. The hosts were very responsive answering all queries within minutes. They also proacively messaged us to let us know that the main hwy leading to Yosemite was closed by Caltrans because of rockfall.

A lovely stay during our trip to Yosemite

The house is beautiful, comfortable, well stocked, and surrounded by nature with amazing views. It’s an easy drive up the 140 to the Arch Rock entrance to Yosemite, and the gold rush town of Mariposa is very close by as well. Highly recommend!

Great location for a Yosemite vacation.

We stayed at the Gold Rush Ranch for our family vacation to Yosemite (4 adults). We spent most of our days at the park which is just under an hour away. But after a long day of hiking it was so nice to come back to a clean comfortable modern home. The beds were very comfortable and the home had everything we needed, linens, towels, washer/dryer, wifi, coffee maker etc. And the view on the back deck was absolutely beautiful, especially in the morning. The town of Mariposa is barely 10 minutes away where we were able to buy groceries and eat dinner out each night. We definitely recommend this VRBO rental. Thank you Rekha and Shyam for sharing you beautiful home with us.

Beautiful, Cozy, Clean Home

This home and property are absolutely beautiful. We stayed here while visiting Yosemite and while we spent most of our days at the park, which is only about an hour away, it was so nice to come back to the home at the end of the day. Upon arrival it was spotless and Rekha and Shyam left a light on for us since we were coming in late. The home had everything we needed, linens, towels, wifi, etc. The view of the mountains in the morning was spectacular. I would highly recommend this property and Rekha and Shyam as hosts! They were in contact with us for any questions we had and very responsive! We will definitely be back next time we come to Yosemite.

Private and peaceful

We enjoyed our stay very much. The property is very private with beautiful vistas. The house is very roomy, clean and functional. It was nice to be close to Mariposa for dining and shopping. There were deer and hare around the house in the morning and evenings - fun to see. We drove to Yosemite every morning, probably about an hour to the valley. We would definitely go back if we were visiting Yosemite again.
