So, the trip did not begin well. We finally got our room at 5pm the next night. Adan in the beachside "snack" shack was the best and Cleo at the towel bar also! Both greeted us daily and made us feel welcome. We loved our beachside room, however the Emporio (hotel next door) had speakers blasting at our room until 12 or 1AM most nights. Food at the "snack" shack was the best. The two buffets were ok. We generally eat out most nights so the fact that the buffet was mediocre didn't matter much to us. We found it very hard to know what was going on or how things at the hotel worked. We had to seek out help often as no one really helped in that way. We have been to Ixtapa multiple times since 2005, and have tried multiple hotels over the years, if not for the loud music next door I think we would stay here again. We found staff to be kind all except the one beach waiter who would not give us the time of day EVER! He would literally come as far as our chairs and turn around. Was quite disappointing.
