This year I skipped those shrines I had been partly due to renovation & the timing of the blossoms. It wasn't in vain though as the number of places one could go for hanami is numerous in the city of Kyoto which is most beautiful during this period. What's new for me is night illumination. I came here not knowing what to expect but I marvel at what I saw despite the rain. It's a huge tree and the most memorable Sakura tree I had ever seen in my life. HUGE! U have to see it in person.
