Lovely, but needs a little love
We had a great 5 days in Marseille to watch the rugby world cup and explore the local area. Marseille has many things to offer and is easy to get around. The accommodation is located outside the city in a quiet neighborhood, which suited us fine. The bus and metro are easy to get to and about a 10 min walk which was good as we didn't have a car.
The accommodation itself is a separate building to the main house and fully self-contained. Our host was very welcoming and made it easy to check in after a long day of travel, however could not meet us in person but this was not a problem.
Our impression of the property was that either it was not in regular use or was about to undergo refurbishment, we couldn't work that out but went for not used regularly. The apartment needs some attention and definitely doesn't match the photos in the description, and we feel that the price should have reflected this! There were no floor coverings with bare plaster showing all over! Quite a few lights did not work. The shower had no door, but a make shift one held together by clips. The shower head holder was broken which needed you to hold the head to have a shower. The kitchen was small but functional, however again lacking in attention. Only 1 breakfast bowl was present and only 3 sets of eating utensils.
The garden and pool are extensive but again needs attention and in general disrepair.
All this didn't stop us having a great time though as we were out a lot.
