Like previous reviewers have said, is an amazing house to stay at with an unbeatable view! Has all you need for a stay and host responds right away if have any requests or questions. Will hopefully be back some day
Property was very nice just like the pictures and lots of room
We were 3 retired couples and the peace and quiet was just what we wanted
It is in a beautiful river valley 15 minutes from the Cabot trail and the park entrance
There is a great golf course, restaurants and bars with entertainment
The host was amazing and very accessible
Can’t say enough good about the place
We are three siblings plus spouses. We have traveled together for a number of years, and we all agree: This was the best rental ever. The house is spacious, well laid-out, supplied with everything we needed, and just plain beautiful. And the view over the Margaree River is killer, day and night. Great hiking, kayaking, and food are all an easy drive from the house. Our host was gracious and quick to respond to all of our questions. The only thing we didn't like was ... leaving! Would happily bring the family here again any time.
This house greatly exceeded our expectations. The rooms are all extremely spacious and the electronics are right up to date. For two days we were fully satisfied with just the upstairs where the kitchen, baths, and bedrooms are but when we went downstairs for one night of TV we appreciated how much bigger the whole place is. We had two days of rain and fog and it was only by the third day that we were able to see how the setting overlooks the river valley — marvelous! We would be happy to return if we find ourselves in Cape Breton again. The music surrounds you on the island — you just need to go out and enjoy it.
Awesome property view from the top of Margaree River Valley
Even though the villa is as seen on the VRBO pictures, we hadn't anticipated to have that gorgeous view on the surroundings. As the villa is located up in the mountain, you get this amazing 180 degree view from any of the three decks, overlooking the river, the valley and the St-Laurent golfe, with the sunset as a bonus each night :-)
The host was super friendly and available at all times when we needed a hint on things to do or see in the area.
I'd say that Margaree Harbor is an ideal location for a trip in Cap Breton as it's 25 minutes from both Inverness and Cheticamp. And if you're looking for the best segment of the Cabot trail, well it's on the north side between Cheticamp and Pleasant Bay.
Enjoy!
We traveled to Cape Breton with three generations of our family, and this was truly the perfect house. The view is unbelievable, we loved sitting on the deck and taking in the sunset. The kitchen was spacious and well stocked with cooking supplies, which was great as we made most of our meals on this trip. The house was also easily accessible for my 72 year old dad who has significant mobility issues. We loved the location as a jumping off point for the Cabot Trail. Geoff was very easy to communicate with, and extremely gracious. He even kindly mailed back a beloved toy that my daughter left behind. We can’t wait to visit again!!
