Far View - A Bed & Breakfast Estate

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing historical home , beautifully preserved on a full city block, lovely breakfast, friendly owners. Easy check in if you’re a little late. Carriage House and Balcony Room were both great."

The Stella Hotel, Autograph Collection

8/10 Good

"The Stella hotel has some wonderful people working there and they really are terrific. The bartenders were fun and provided great service as well as the front desk. We did encounter a problem in the restuarant the first night when a large party were allowed to be obnoxiously loud, making it very difficult to have dinner in the restaurant. The hotel was very kind to comp our dinner. We suggested to them that because the hotel relies on Texas A&M students and post graduate students who are terrific young people, but at the same time are not experienced with dealing with an unruly group of adults, that there needs to be a few more seasoned/experienced people who have the skill-set to to control people who will ruin the atmosphere of a 4 or 5-star hotel environment. There were a couple of bartenders who have the type of experience to control an out of control group of people. This large group should have been given the opportunity to move to a private room or lower their voices by about 75%. No 4- or 5-star hotel can allow this type of situation to occur. The only other negative issue we had was the very loud AC unit in our room. It appeared the rooms need an AC upgrade with modern "quiet" air conditioners. But I want to end this review by repeating the kindness we experienced by the entire staff throughout our stay."

5 mins to Lake | Sleeps 7 | Boat Parking

10/10 Excellent

"This property was probably my one of the most thoughtfully prepared I’ve been in. Everything from snacks, books to read in downtime, makeup remover/towels, clear signage. I would highly recommend this. The house was great, and the backyard was perfect for the kids to burn some energy."

Washington House: Steps to Dwtn; Backyard oasis with fire pit/pool table/games

10/10 Excellent

"This was our 2nd stay here with 16 ladies- we LOVE the house! Exactly as pictured, all the kitchen items we needed, great outdoor sitting areas and easy communication with our hosts. It's perfect for our annual Round Top trip!"

Apache Log Cabin - Walk to Lake, Pet Friendly

10/10 Excellent

"We liked the cabin. The yard and back porch were great, especially for our dog (Alaskan husky). Walking distance to the lake was a pretty LONG walk but was doable. The wooden handrails could be rounded off to prevent splinters or hand injuries, and the glass top on the coffee table had sharp corners so we moved it out of the way. Our only other disappointment was no ABC, CBS, or NBC TV, so we couldn't see the Dallas Cowboys football game or our favorite weekly shows, like Tracker. We could recommend this place."
