Large, touristy property, well-suited for group travelers, especially those who speak English. Front desk personnel were charming, eager to please and helpful, Nadia in particular.
Would have rated the Dniester higher but there was a booking issue that arose. Since we liked Lviv instantly, we wanted to extend our stay two nights. In order to get the Expedia rate, we were advised to book online, so that is what we did.
Suddenly, our keys didn’t work. Asked at the desk, we were told that our reservation had expired and that, if we wanted to stay in our room, we would have to pay more. As an aside, the hotel was fairly empty mid-week. We looked at the ‘classic’ room, found it to be acceptable except for a few plumbing items that refused to work or were in serious need of updating, and spent the next hour making the surprise move down three floors.
So management flexed its Premier muscles but didn’t gain any fans that day, to be sure. Next time I’m going to be in Lviv, I’ll be looking for accommodations elsewhere. Competition is too fierce to permit that type of philosophy to be successful in the hospitality industry.
