![When Mount Rainier National Park was established in 1899 the park headquarters were located at the site of James Longmire's homestead and mineral springs resort.  Over the subsequent decades a number of architecturally significant buildings were constructed, including the Administration Building pictured here.  

What sets this building apart is the use of glacial boulders to form much of the first story walls.  Massive log beams and log-siding complete the structure, while a large fireplace dominates the lobby.  Overall, the building appears largely the same as it did when built in the late 1920s. 

Today the building serves as a visitor information center.

« Nous avons réservé cet hôtel au dernier moment et il était plus de 22h. Malgré cela le monsieur qui nous a reçu a été très gentil et nous a accueilli avec beaucoup de bienveillance. L’hôtel est d’époque ce qui le rend très charmant et il est confortable. La chambre et les espaces communs sont très propres. Tout le personnel est charmant et aimable. « This place was very nice. Had everything we needed. Even a few spices. We did bring some of our own as well. Cozy and comfortable. Just right for two to four people. The host communicated well with us and even left a bottle of wine and some hot cocoa to enjoy. Being able to do laundry was a plus. She even left makeup wipes for the ladies. Lots of personal touches. Enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Would recommend for sure. The neighborhood is very quiet as well. Was a perfect place to spend for...

"Nous avons réservé cet hôtel au dernier moment et il était plus de 22h. Malgré cela le monsieur qui nous a reçu a été très gentil et nous a accueilli avec beaucoup de bienveillance. L’hôtel est d’époque ce qui le rend très charmant et il est confortable. La chambre et les espaces communs sont très propres. Tout le personnel est charmant et aimable. Le cadre de l’hôtel est magnifique, de grand espace vert et de forêt qui font partie du domaine et un petit étang plein de charme. Nous avons passé un super séjour. Cet hôtel mérite une excellente note général, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés!!"

"Petite maison partagé en 3 appartements. Nous avions celui du rez-de-chaussé, composé d'une petite cuisine salon, 2 chambres, d'une salle de bain et d'un extérieur avec table et fauteuils. Jardin de la propriété très agréable avec un petit cour d'eau le traversant. Nous ne sommes resté qu'une nuit, mais nous avons très apprécié le lieu."
