"Pen was phenomenal. English-speaking and very helpful getting taxis and answering questions. Pen made our stay wonderful. This is a beautiful resort in the middle of nowhere, which was just the getaway we were looking for. We did get a taxi to White Sand Beach one day and I was glad we didn’t stay there because it was too touristy. At night at Parama, all you can hear are birds and frogs. Paradise. "

"I really enjoyed my stay, it is right next to a lot of the action, the area has a village community vibe & after a few days it feels like you know everyone, the owner is very nice & helpful pointing you in the right direction. "We booked a family bungalow for 3 nights but left after the first. The room was not properly cleaned. The floors were dirty, there was a used tissue in the bed, and one pillow had red stains. The AC barely worked, there were mosquitoes everywhere, and the upstairs bed was just a mattress on the floor. The layout was poorly designed. The TV was far from the bed, and the toilet is basically inside the shower so everything gets wet. Water pressure was also very weak. The biggest issue was the AC, which shuts off every time you leave the room and never cooled the space. WiFi constantly disconnected and breakfast was mediocre. We didn’t bother speaking to the front desk after reading reviews about unhelpful management. For about $200 per night, this felt worse than a hostel. Would not recommend. "

"this place is a little tired and i think needs a bit of a re-boot. There were great elements and the set up is peaceful and the breakfast was very nice, but the real let down was that the whole place is like the marie-celeste in the evenings. there is no life. no hub. no bar and 2 restaurants but both on the same menu so in fact, only 1! we dont want partys and seek out places that are quieter but this was way too quiet. there was a musical duo which seemed to play most evenings but they were not good, oddly placed in relation to the diners and often playing to 4 or 6 people which makes everybody a little uncomfortable. "
