Very characterful part of London. The apartment (A) was very spacious, clean and well stocked, and the bed was comfortable. Perfectly serviceable for our needs, and if you were using it for longer business stays would be a home away from home. Cons: The photo we were sent of the building, was not the actual building. Not very helpful on a cold, wet and dark evening when your arms are full of luggage. There also isn't on site parking as advised on the website. The NCP isn't far away (10 mins slow walk) but very annoying as that was one of our search criteria. The lock box was tricky to open (possibly because it and we were so cold) and the common areas are very scruffy. An armchair in addition to the sofa would be nice, and a better storage place for the vacuum cleaner and fold-out bed than in the lounge would improve the look. The spare bed to sleep on is the worst bed I have ever slept on. It wasn’t a sofa bed as advertised but a rollaway mattress on springs that was so soft and saggy it provided zero support and felt like I was sleeping in a hole or hammock. Only 1 fan provided despite it being hot and we booked for 3 occupants. Firstly, the bathroom sink did not drain properly. Secondly, there was a heat wave in London and the apartment had no ventilation and we had to request a fan (which came the next day). Thirdly, Avari advise the property can sleep four people. Please note the sofa bed is small and would only be suitable for two children rather than two adults. The apartment had a washing machine but had no hanging rack to dry the clothes. The rooms are spacious and clean, appliances in perfect working order. We did struggle with the digital key, registration required SMS text messaging, not just WiFi, so beware if traveling internationally. Also our key expired unexpectedly the second day of our stay without warning. The second bedroom in our apartment was locked for some unknown reason when we arrived and required digital key to open. The initial communication was done through email, the initial instructions for the checkin was very confusing, it mentioned "digital key", which never worked and conflicted with the instructions we got on the day of our arrival, which used physical key that we had to figure out how to follow the instructions to get out of a lockbox. 2\. The heating in the apartment never worked. This will be a problem for guests staying in winter months. We were lucky to stay there during early October, when the weather was still mild. 3\. The drainage of the shower area was very slow and dirty water accumulating while we showered. We sent email to the staff, which did come but never fixed the issue. 4\. We ran out of toilet tissue on the first night and we were told to buy them because it is self served apartment. 5\. There is no staff on site and the only communication is through email, it is very frustrating that we did not have any real person to talk to about any of the above issues. 6\. In general, the staff responded to email timely, but a few occasions they did not respond after 8 hours untill I asked again. Good part: very spacious, overall very clean, fully equipped kitchen great for cooking. Robes for shower. I stayed in unit B in property 16\. I found out which unit I would be about two hours before check in time. There is a lot to like… luxury touches like monogrammed towels, plush robes, and high-quality soaps. The fit and finish on the apartment were great, especially the kitchen and bathroom. The bed was comfortable… but there were a few things that will lead me to look elsewhere the next time I make my way to London. The pile of mail at the door as soon as you enter the building made it difficult to get a suitcase in the street-level door and up the narrow staircase. The beautiful bathroom had a strong smell of sulfur from the shower drain - closing the door made the apt smell better, but left you with a difficult room for a shower, and the bedroom is located on the street side of the building instead of the quieter back part of the apartment. This small street in front of the building was noisy late at night and early in the morning. The closed windows block much of the noise, but leave the room warm and stuffy. Unfortunately, I could (loudly) hear my relatively quiet upstairs neighbors even as they talked at normal levels and walked around above me. Easy access to tube Appreciated the apartment space and location. Apartment inside was very clean and modern. Great place to stay. One TV in living room with streaming apps. Kitchen nice, bathroom with rain shower. Just short walk from Farringdon station which was easy to navigate, jump on Circle line for sightseeing. Places to eat just a block or two away. Street itself is in jewelry area, quiet, had a little trash but very safe. Appreciated that area was less busy than main tourist areas but easy to access anywhere you want to go. Had to dowload app Dormakaba BlueSky Access app for digital key to get into building and apartment. There were similar dormakaba app so had to make sure it was BlueSky one. There was no problem using it once I downloaded right app and held screen face of my phone to lock in order to open. Just keep phone charged and have wifi.
