The little Spanish gem
The weather was amazing and the location was excellent, The room was out of this world we were lucky enough to get an end room and it was massive. the staff could not do enough for you and they would leave little treats for you. We will most definitely be staying there again.

A nice country setting
The consistent quality found in other Paradores, in a very nice setting. We stayed here planning to visit Bilbao, but it was a little too far from that.

The room and social areas were excellent. However both the dinner and breakfast were not as good in terms of quality or value for money.

Quality hotel with excellent service
We chose to stay at the Parador De Limpias as it has a good reputation and is only 40 mins drive from the Port of Santander. Unfortunately delays with our ferry started to make us concerned that we would arrive too late for an evening meal. However, when we contacted the Parador De Limpias from the ferry the staff proved to be very accommodating and put our minds at rest. They said that should the restaurant be closed when we arrived, they would make sure that there would be plates of cold food in our room. As it turned out we arrived at 10:00pm and had an excellent meal in the restaurant, which closed at 11:00pm. The Parador De Limpias is well appointed with all the facilities that you would expect from a quality hotel and is located in an interesting part of Spain. So 5 stars for the hotel and, of course, 5 stars for the staff.

Parador de Limpias
We were upgraded to a superior room which was large and very comfortable. All aspects of the stay were good with the notable exception of the restaurant. The evening meal was expensive (£75 for two) and to our taste at least very poor value. The menu choice was limited, the portions small (compared to other restaurants in the area) and were served lukewarm. A glass of wine barely covered the bottom of the glass. On the other hand the buffet breakfast was very good

Elegant Stay off the Beaten Track
We loved our stay at the Parador in Limpias. If you haven't encountered Parador hotels before, they are a series of historic properties restored into hotels, found throughout Spain. This Parador is a restored 18th century mansion built by a Spanish nobleman. The stone building is elegant and romantic, with a comfortable café at reception, a manicured courtyard, and an excellent restaurant on site. The rooms are spacious, with modern floor to ceiling glass windows that make for an unforgettable view of the countryside. Parking is available on-site, and the grounds include nice walking paths to a nearby river. We had a car and used Limpias as our home base to explore Laredo, Bilbao, and other Basque country treasures. Highly recommend!

Great hotel, outstanding food
Great hotel. Outstanding breakfast buffet. The indoor swimming pool area could do with some attention, it looks tired. Considering the weather in this region can be very hit and miss, it would make sense to invest in making it look nicer.

Palatial experience not to forget.
This is a wonderfully restored and modernised hotel typical of what we have come to expect of Parador establishments. The staff are friendly and helpful and always available no matter how busy. The facilities are terrific although we were a little disappointed that the outdoor pool had not yet been commissioned for the season. It was mid May but the weather was inviting us to spend time outdoors in the sunshine. The restaurant presented a wide range of fare and we had a very pleasant dinner in an admittedly quiet dining room. All the dishes we favoured were excellent. Breakfast offerings were equally impressing and we enjoyed the sunny dining room overlooking the ornate garden. Eating in the bar was also a pleasing event whether for lunch or in the evening. Sitting on the terrace over a drink again with the manicured garden to ponder was a very relaxing experience. The gym is well equipped from my observation but because the weather was so clement, it was more onviting to take a stroll along calle la mar at all stages of the tide. The colourful moored boats pained a lovely picture in contrast to the naval armements placed along part of the quay as part of the display from the War Museum. Definitely an unusual twist for a sunny stroll enjoying the surrounding natural environment. A more stretching walk up the hill offers wonderful views of the surrounding estuary and pastures and of the village buildings as well. All in all a very pleasant.

Beautiful park like setting in small village forest. Historic villa with elegant decor, tiles and hardword - incredible classiness of days gone by! Has all the ammenities and quietness of a library. A great place to have a restful sleep and enjoy some luxury of the past!

A wonderful retreat....even for night
The Parador is located in a beautiful park area. There is a older section and a new addition to the hotel. Our room was located in the older part. It had a great terrace for a outdoor breakfast which we enjoyed. The reception was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area around Limpias. The service in the restaurant started out slow but as a large group departed it got much better. Our dinner was delicious as we ordered the chefs suggestions. As with most hotels I would like to see 2 luggage racks/are as to put your bags. my only complaint. Parking was easy get have z garage and outdoor parking available for a charge. Decorating was like all Paradors we have stayed in, very authentic to the time and area. We highly recommend this hotel

Paradore de Limpias - very nice stay
I always loved the Paradore hotels. This was no exception. The greeting by the host at check in was gracious. Extremely friendly and helpful. The staff overall very friendly and polite. The room was comfortable, private bathrooms, a wonderful shower. The breakfast set up at the hotel was of all probably my favorite. It was a buffet with endless choices. DInner was delicious as well and the dinner starters were almost enough for a meal on their own. That however didn’t stop us from moving on to excellent main courses and dessert. Very comfortable. Very relaxed. I will definitely stay again. I cannot comment on the area. We were there for just one night en route to a longer stay at another Paradore hotel at Santilanna Del Mar. The Parador de Limpias was a perfect visit in itself. And for what you get, not expensive at all.

Luxury in a great location
We spent the last two nights here before catching the ferry back to Portsmouth. A delightful stay. Exceptional service and a fabulous location. Some variation to the Parador menu would be nice, or a 'dish of the day' of local produce. But food was still very good.

Would definitely stay here again - beautiful hotel with old and modern style rooms, great service, delicious breakfast, good dinner and wine. My family could not make it in the end and the front desk lady was able to change the reservation to accommodate this!

Only negatives are service in the restaurant v slow and food not interesting. Also, only free parking at the bottom of a steep hill. Best meal here was in fish restaurant in Laredo overlooking the beach.

Fantastic hotel, close to Santander and Bilbao.
As with most Paradors, Limpias has a stately home feel about it! Grand staircases and stained glass windows! The staff are pleasant and helpful! The food is delicious, the breakfast buffet is amazing with a huge array of dishes including bacon and eggs! There is nothing to fault in this hotel. Can't wait to go back!

Personnel très accueillant et disponible. Bel hôtel et belle chambre de trois personnes. Pas vraiment de resto dans le village mais il y en a de tres bon à Ampuero c'est à moins de cinq minutes en voiture.

Très bon choix
Nous ne pensions rester qu'une nuit mais finalement nous étions si bien que nous avons pris une nuit de plus. Très bon petit déjeuner et très bel hôtel. Le personnel est très accueillant et poli. Par contre, nous n'avons pas testé le dîner au restaurant. Essayez la piscine !
