We used 4 spacious bedrooms and there was a large loft as well with 10 single mattresses which we didn't use. You have to drive 12km up in the mountains on a very well maintained bandy road with beautiful views and through few tunnels. "Lots of room to hold a large group. Good location as you can travel throughout Switzerland within a reasonable drive. Quite the drive up the mountain through the narrow and winding streets if you aren’t used to it but all worth it! So close to the village of Nendaz which had lots to offer. Great host- super cooperative and responsive to questions. Can’t beat the views!"

"We celebrated a big birthday with a family get together; we were 17 people, all ages and ALL enjoyed their stay. The property was perfect; The rooms were great and very clean. it had everything we needed. Marco (host) went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. "Great Bear is a lovely chalet with breathtaking views in a unique environment. I cannot think of a better summer escape, given the stunning surroundings of the Val Hérens, the local cuisine, produce, meat products, and delicious wines. The chalet fits the rustic character of the tiny village perfectly, while affording the necessary comforts for an Alpine stay. Absolutely LOVED IT!!!"

"The house was a bit small for a group of 7. I can't imagine 9 people. The WiFi password would not work and it seemed the LAN cable for connecting to the internet was missing. "Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) enjoyed our time at the chalet. The kitchen was well equipped and the decor was welcoming. The views were amazing. We highly recommend this place if you want to get out of the summer heat and spend quality family time in a gorgeous and comfortable setting. The only (minor) challenge was finding the chalet as there is another chalet nearby with the same address number. But luckily the chalets are marked with a name."
