"The Governor's Inn is great!"
This hotel is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever been to. The room, especially the bathroom, were very clean. The staff was great and the lobby was beautiful. It was relatively close to some nice attractions. I would definitely say that this hotel is my first choice if I'm ever in the area again.

"Nice hotel for the price. "
The grounds are very nice , pool/hot tub not so much. The rooms aren't bad but need updating , breakfast is good. It's close to downtown and the airport. There's alot of other places far worse then this. I would stay here again. I know pilots a stewardesses do. So it can't be that bad. Not the best but definitely not the worst alittle above avg. Overall I give it 4 otta 5.

"Not bad for the price"
I think when you go through Expedia they give you the least desirable room. The window looked to a interior hall. Dark room. Seemed clean but smelled like cigarette smoke

"Decent hotel walking distance from downtown Sacto"
We checked in late with no problem. We asked for our two rooms to be next to each other and they accommodated that request. The rooms are comfortable and large, with minimal TV channels and a refrigerator and microwave, ironing board and iron, as well as a hair dryer all provided. There was plenty of hot water for showering and the beds were comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast includes make-your-own-waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, 2 kinds of cold cereal, juice, toast, microwaveable egg packets, as well as tea and coffee. There was a clean outdoor swimming pool. There is an onsite laundry room, which I was counting on using, however, it had an out of order sign posted on the door for our entire week's stay - so that was disappointing. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from old downtown Sacramento on a river trail, so if that's where you'd like to spend time then this place is perfect. We walked to downtown with kids in tow (ages 16 down to 5) and it wasn't a difficult walk for any of them. We were a 10 minute drive from the State Capitol building as well as a Safeway grocery store. There is a Denny's and McDonald's just around the corner from the hotel and plenty of other restaurants were just a short drive away. The only real negatives about our stay were that the floors in the hotel rooms turn your feet or socks black. The wifi is pretty spotty, but still works. And the staff (especially in the morning) were not very friendly, but they do their job well.

"Last minute stay "
I already expected the hotel to be basic, but it was just a little better than that. The staff was friendly and they offered free parking. I wanted an upstairs room but they only had one with a connecting door. That was ok since it stayed locked, but our neighbors were so loud in the morning. I swear they were in the room with us. It was non smoking but of course the neighbors were smoking. Other than that, the room is confortable. No blow dryer, limited soap/shampoo. It's also located 5 mins from downtown. I'd say overall it's good for a night, but I wouldn't stay longer.

"Nice hotel close to the State Capital"
Was in town visiting someone at UC Davis medical center. Needed a place to stay and ended up at La Quinta. Was pleasantly surprised with the clean and comfortable room. Newly remodeled. Bed was comfortable, just missed having a microwave and fridge. We only requested for a standard room 1 king non smoking. The pool was being updated and looks like it will be nice. Had a view of the park, only wish we had more time to explore the area. Breakfast was good, did not have scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage or danishes. Did have waffle, hard boil egg, toast, whole fruit, yogurt, cold cereal, juice, coffee and milk.

"Hostel at motel price"
This was my second stay. General impression of the place is good, friendly staff and an effort to keep it clean. Except when looking under the bed by coincidence, the carpet there had not been vacuumed for a long time. Not the hotel's fault that some guests don't seem to care how to leave the community showers for the next person. The heating system was blowing loudly so that I had a hard time falling sleep. Needed to cancel a nightly Skype conference call because internet did not work in my (top) floor and was not restarted like promised, which I found disappointing. Breakfast used to be better, was very incomplete this time. Add parking fees and one time membership not mentioned on most websites, so a small room comes up to $77. Furniture: a (good) bed, tiny bed table, an armchair and hooks on the wall, you need to be ok with living out of the suitcase. Altogether it's ok because of the central location, nicely decorated public areas and the friendly staff. It's probably a good opportunity for a shorter stay, and even more so if you spend less and stay in a dorm. Have not tried hotels in the area with a comparable price. The possibility to cook and keep food in the big fridge is a great plus and can save money you would need to spend on going out for meals.

"Great Bang for Your Buck"
It may be listed as a two star motel, but it is truly a pleasurable stay. The staff are pleasant and very professional. Our room was not quite ready when we arrived, so they upgraded us to their suite at the same cost as the regular room. After a couple of days, we inquired about when we would be moved to our regular room and they told us we can stay in the suite for the duration for the lower cost. We only participated in the free continental breakfast a couple of times, but the food was fresh and plentiful. It is close to busy street, so sometimes it is a bit noisy, but we just closed the window and most of the outside noise went away. The housekeeping staff are friendly and not pushy. Since we were there for around two weeks, they honored our requests to not clean when it wasn't needed (we tend to clean up after ourselves), but gave us any supplies we needed upon request. It is conveniently located near downtown Sacramento and within easy walking distance to the edge of downtown and midtown where there are wonderful restaurants and pubs ... particularly, The Magpie Cafe on P and 16th Streets. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay. We even extended our stay for another couple of weeks and are currently staying here and enjoying it! Five Stars!
