We spent our evenings at the lake, kayaking or floating and the kids loved it. The hike was also a plus with the waterfall and cave. The ferry is down for the rest of the year which resulted in longer trips to Mammoth Cave and activities. It was all good though, the drive was beautiful and we stopped at some stores and discovered a great ice cream parlor. We are a party of 4, and we were comfortable. The cabin felt very cozy yet had plenty of room for a family of 12. The kitchen was well equipped, had everything we needed and then some. Had plenty for kids to do, video and board games, puzzles and an outdoor rope swing. Loved sitting on the back porch, with plenty of seating. Would have been fun to use the fire ring, but we had 90 degree days. Convenient in that it had a restroom on every floor. There were many activities both inside and out for children. Multiple sleeping arrangements to choose from. Two fireplaces that were cozy at night. A full kitchen that allowed for full meals. We were unable to have a guided tour at Mammoth Cave due to the government shutdown, but visited other locations. The cabin is very secluded, with winding roads with 30 minute drive to anywhere.
