COVID-19 may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't halted our desire to explore. Here are a few tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Know if any restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you book your flight.
• When you go through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Passengers who refuse to wear a mask may be fined and denied boarding.
• To reduce the potential of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• You are now allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. You'll need to remove it for X-ray screening.
• Empty everything from your pockets, like your wallet and phone, and put them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA officer will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
