The kitchen and living room are a good size and the deck was used throughout the day with the new grill. We stayed “off season” - during the Thanksgiving holiday, and I have to say, the view is fantastic. With the trees having shed their leaves, we were treated to a fantastic view of the lake and mountains. This time it was Lake George. The house itself met our basic needs as far as a place to sleep & shower. We only cooked there once. For that the kitchen was adequate, but it would be pushing it for a larger group / meal. There was no plastic wrap, foil, etc. The biggest negative was there were big black ants. Lots of them, all over the house. We bought ant traps, and we "eliminated" many of them manually, but they were still an issue on the last of our 3 days there. The host said it is a common issue in the Adirondacks, & the house was being sprayed the afternoon we left. Hopefully that took care of the problem for future renters. Another negative was the screened-in porch was deeply covered in pollen. Probably can't be helped, to a point, in June in the Adirondacks, but it looked like it hadn't been tended to before we arrived. We did not contact the hosts about it, so I can't speak to if it would have been rectified; seemed like more bother than it was worth, as the weather wasn't good anyway - until the last evening, when we were wishing we could sit out there. The host was quick to answer times I did contact him, and the house was otherwise clean. The stairs to the 2nd floor are challenging; you have to duck your head (literally bend over) and turn a corner at the same time. Bedroom windows have sheers only; some have nothing.
