"It was an average and very expensive stay! I basically paid almost $400 a night and expected at least shampoo and conditioner bottles full not empty and a free breakfast in the morning, not an overpriced snack area at the lobby. I wasn’t impressed ! The front desk and the housekeepers were rude and unwelcoming."

"The location and ocean view were exactly what I wanted. However not having a restaurant or some type of an upscale coffee shop was very disappointing and unexpected. The valet parking was excessive charge at $60 for a day ending noon and valet was not even there Sunday - Monday. It was self park in their entrance porchier . There was nothing historic about it so no reason to return."

"The breakfast menu was excellent. The hotel is located in a beautiful spot, with views of the Navesink River from some of the rooms and the restaurant. The lobby is spacious and comfortable, the bar is cozy and charming, and the staff is lovely and polite. I've been to the MP Inn for events, but never stayed there before. Would do so again in a heartbeat."

"The staff here are absolutely the nicest and most generous we have experienced when staying at high end hotels. Free bottled water 24-7 may not seem like a perk to some but it’s the little things that add up. Beautiful location on the Navesink even with lots of construction in the area, there is valet parking and once inside you hear nothing! Highly recommended this wonderful hotel! "

"Overall, it was a good, solid place to stay for more than a week. Laid back, and staff that didn't bother you. Nice location, right on the water. No coffee machine in the office nor in the room, so visit Dave at Ma's across the street for a good cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast. A little further down is a 7-11. Avoid Boathouse401 at all costs. They call cops at the drop of a hat. "
