"The place was very nice, clean, and was just as advertised. It was pretty small, but comfortably slept 3 of us. There was no kitchen, just a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a toaster. There are also no plates or bowls (even paper ones) so I suggest that you bring your own if you plan to use the kitchenette. The walk to the lifts is only about 5 min, and there is also a shuttle stop right out front if you don't want to walk."

Kit Carson Lodge

"Silver Lake is a beautiful location, and Kit Carson Lodge was the perfect one-night escape from the Sacramento heat. We stayed in a basic four-room lodge building - ideal if you don't plan on spending much time indoors. The shared balcony has canvas dividers that provide visual privacy, though you can still hear your neighbors. That said, the sunrise view from the deck was spectacular! The grounds are well-kept and the restaurant is excellent; we enjoyed delicious dinner and breakfast outdoors overlooking the lake. However, there were a few downsides: our bed felt old and uncomfortable, the screen door was bent (inviting mosquitoes), and the beach lounge chairs were in very poor condition. Also, be aware that you have to walk back up to the store to rent watercraft rather than paying at the beach, and the campfire isn't a nightly occurrence. The staff were all very helpful and nice. Overall, we had a good stay and would consider returning - next time, we'll likely opt for a private cabin with a kitchen."

"Such a well equipped cabin! We had a girls weekend away and it was so comfortable and peaceful. We spent a ton of time out on the deck. The cabin had everything we could ever need and then some. Highly recommend. ALMOST (but not quite) wished I brought my kids to enjoy all the games in the upstairs game room."

"Very close to town and the hot springs, making it a convenient location for exploring the area. The house was a good size for our group, and the host was very responsive and helpful.Some of the kitchen items are a bit dated, but it had the essentials we needed, including pots, pans, a strainer, and other basic cooking supplies. Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay and worked well for our weekend plans."

"We loved our stay at Pinecrest! The condo was so cute. Clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. Decorated so cute too!! Jessica our host answered all of our questions and responded quickly. I also left my sandals and she was so sweet to offer to mail them to me. We stayed during summer and enjoyed the private lake and fishing. We plan to go back during the winter to enjoy all the snow fun :)"
