"The staff was very helpful but we were very disappointed about the overall condition of the hotel and rooms which were very tired and in the process of being renovated. The restaurant was closed as a consequence. We paid quite a lot for the room much more than was advertised locally and had no knowledge of the disruption. Nothing on Expedia. Will think twice about using Expedia again. Don't like being taken for a ride."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Laimont?
The best area to stay in Laimont is the village centre, particularly around the Mairie (Town Hall) and the Church of Saint-Laurent.

This area forms the historic heart of Laimont and offers a tranquil, authentic French village experience. The main street, Rue Principale, runs through the centre, lined with traditional stone houses. It's a small, quiet community, superb for those seeking relaxation and a break from city life.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village centre ideal. It provides a romantic setting with opportunities for gentle strolls through the countryside lanes surrounding the village. The local boulangerie offers fresh pastries for a delightful breakfast, and the nearby forests provide a wonderful backdrop for walks.

For travellers interested in local history and a calm base for exploring the Meuse department, staying near the Church of Saint-Laurent is an excellent choice. The church itself is a historical landmark, and the surrounding residential streets are very quiet, allowing for a restful stay.
When is the best time to go to Laimont?
The best time to go to Laimont is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

During late spring, Laimont awakens with pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C. The countryside is lush, and the vineyards begin to flourish, making it an ideal time for leisurely walks and exploring the local scenery without the peak summer crowds. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a romantic escape amidst blooming landscapes.

Early autumn offers equally agreeable weather, with temperatures often between 12°C and 18°C. This is harvest season in the region, providing a unique opportunity to experience local traditions and enjoy fresh produce. The changing colours of the foliage create a stunning backdrop for outdoor activities. Families might find this time appealing for its cooler temperatures and opportunities for engaging in local harvest festivals.

July and August are also popular, with warmer temperatures (20°C to 25°C), but this is also the busiest period, meaning more people at attractions and potentially higher prices. Winter (November to April) can be quite cold, with temperatures often near freezing, and many seasonal businesses may be closed.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Laimont.
