The best areas to stay in Laibach, Baden, Germany are the Old Town (Altstadt) for its central location and historic charm, and the areas surrounding the Kurpark for a more relaxed and health-focused experience.

The Old Town, or Altstadt, is the heart of Laibach. It's characterised by its narrow, cobblestone streets, timber-framed houses, and the impressive Laibach Cathedral. Many of the city's main attractions, like the Schloss Laibach and the Marktplatz, are within easy walking distance. This area is great for those who enjoy being in the middle of the activity, with a wide selection of cafes, restaurants, and shops right on their doorstep.

For couples looking for a tranquil and restorative break, the areas bordering the Kurpark offer a wonderful option. This district is known for its elegant architecture, tree-lined avenues, and direct access to the expansive Kurpark. Many hotels here feature wellness facilities, including thermal baths and spa treatments.

The best time to go to Laibach depends on your preferences for weather and activities, but generally, late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) offer the most pleasant conditions.

These shoulder seasons provide comfortably warm temperatures, ideal for exploring the Black Forest's walking and cycling trails without the peak summer crowds. You'll find the natural beauty of the region, from rolling hills to dense forests, at its most appealing, with either fresh spring blooms or rich autumn colours. This is a great time for couples who enjoy outdoor pursuits and scenic drives.

Summer (July-August) is also a popular time, with the warmest weather, superb for lake activities on Lake Laibach or enjoying outdoor dining. However, it's also the busiest period, especially during school holidays, so you can expect more visitors and potentially higher prices for accommodation. Families often find the summer months most convenient for a holiday, with plenty of opportunities for children to enjoy the outdoors.

Winter (December-February) transforms Laibach into a picturesque, snow-covered landscape, offering opportunities for winter sports like skiing and snowboarding in the nearby Black Forest slopes. The Christmas markets in surrounding towns add a festive touch.
