"As advertised, the staff is exemplary! All you need to do is ask and a member of the staff will fulfill your request quickly. We had a problem with our TV and they replaced the entire TV in about 15 minutes. The staff has a sense of pride when it comes to making sure everything works at Mauna Kea and that all of your needs are met! Our room was meticulously cleaned daily and again, you can ask housekeeping for anything and they will respond to the request promptly. You won't find a better beach than the one at Mauna Kea Beach. It's an all sand beach as far as you can walk out into the ocean. I highly recommend the Mauna Kea Beach hotel and will return there in the future. "

"Chris, Carol and Justin were the perfect hosts. The property and home is stunning and every attention to detail was met. The home was clean with a gorgeous view, floor to ceiling fireplace, cable tv, internet, washer, dryer and cooler, beach chairs and towels to use. Chris provided firewood on cool evenings, charcoal for the grill, tips on beaches, hikes, restaurants, history of the area and the farm animals are such fun to visit and feed. Close to many nice beaches, hikes and about 2 hours from Volcano National Park. We saw lots of whales, sea turtles and there are plenty of places to snorkel nearby. There is an affordable FoodLand grocery store 30 minutes away and smaller shops right in Hawi for anything you might need. If you are looking for some time on the Big Island away from the resorts to experience the true spirit of Hawaii this is a great choice with great hosts that give you privacy but always available if you have any needs. You won't be disappointed!"

"As advertised - loved our balcony to relax w idyllic Ocean & Mauna Kea views, inc picture perfect sunsets, comfortable lounge chairs at pools and at the white sand beach. Glad we got breakfast buffet included, w excellent variety of food, quality & service. Wish we knew ahead of time to pre-book the complimentary outrigger canoe trip - will do next time!"
