"This is the best hotel that we have stayed at. The amenities, staff, rooms, the spa, the adult pool, the food, the beach…all 5 stars! Swam with manta rays and did the longest running luau that was well done. Have been coming here since the 80’s and it only keeps getting better. We love the Mauna Kea and the Big Island of Hawaii."

"We had a wonderful stay at Studio Kohala Big Island Ocean View! The space was comfortable, peaceful, and offered beautiful views. Loved listening to the wind at night! The hosts were thoughtful and welcoming, and they even provided yogurt and fresh fruit for us in the morning, which was such a nice touch. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommend!"

'My Favorite Place on Earth'

'My Favorite Place on Earth'

10/10 Excellent
"My Favorite Place on earth is an idyllic spot for two people. The views are stunning, the sound of waves lulling you to sleep are peaceful, and waking up to a small, but well appointed kitchen to cook breakfast before sightseeing is a plus. Our stay was lovely and a great blend of restful and active days. Our favorite was driving less than 2 miles north to snorkel at Hapuna Beach where there is an abundance of colorful fish to see. We also loved seeing the turtles on the reef right behind the house. We spent most of our time at the house on the lanai watching the waves. There is no air conditioning, but the trade winds kept us comfortable for all but two afternoons. Sleeping with the fans on and the windows open was a must for us and kept us quite comfortable. We would definitely come back to what is now our favorite place on earth and happily recommend it to anyone considering a Big Island vacation."

Amazing Ocean Views, Wai' Ula Ula of Mauna Kea Resort "Beautiful Ocean Villa"

Amazing Ocean Views, Wai' Ula Ula of Mauna Kea Resort "Beautiful Ocean Villa"

10/10 Excellent
"The condo was an exceptional place to stay. We only stayed 5 nights. There was a little snag in communication at the end as the cleaner entered the property before we left, and the call tonour phone was a little off-touch, but we were still thankful the host allowed us to extend our check-out due to our special needs. They are very accommodating, which we greatly appreciated. Before arrival, their communication was VERY thorough. Our stay was wonderful, so in the grand scheme it seemed like a very minor miss.As for the condo, the views of the Kohala range are expansive, which is very endearing, and the ocean views were wonderful too. Sunrises and sunsets - incredible! We frequent this side of the island often. Unfortunately, the price of the resort's amenity package continues to rise. I know the price of the condo's in the area are pretty comparable to this one. I just wish the resort would partner more with owners for rental guests on value. However, if you have a party of 5 or 6 it's probably worth it. 150 a day for 2, not so much.Overall, the property was clean and spacious, and the layout was just right. We are making early concessions for next year already. We will gladly stay here again if the ammenity package doesn't increase further. Otherwise, we might decide to look elsewhere to keep the amenities! Again, more than 2 people, this would be a wonderful fit!!"

BEACHFRONT HOME 2 acres, Pool, Tennis, Volleyball. Like your own private resort!

10/10 Excellent
"Everything was outstanding. Thank you to the owner, Andrew and our local contact, Leah for making everything perfect. The home and the grounds had everything, felt just like home, down to the Toto toilets, Sonos sound system and home automation. With 9 adults ages mid 30's to early 70's plus four kids under 10, there was plenty of room and spaces for everyone to relax and the kids be active. Nearby beaches were good and groceries available nearby. We all had a great time and expect to book again next year."
