The SPECIAL rate will be $196.00 + 18.712% + $185 one-time cleaning (approx. 30% discount). The standard nightly rate is $280.00 + 18.712% + $185.00 one-time cleaning fee. Enjoy the comfort of our oceanfront one-bedroom, one bath condominium. Imagine being 75 steps away from the Pacific Ocean on the east shore of Kauai in the historical town of Kapa'a. From your private lanai with incredible views of the ocean, you can watch the sunrises and listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean. Our condo is a corner unit on the 2nd floor that has been completely remodeled. The condo has a sliding glass door leading our to our oceanfront lanai. There also is a window in the eating area which allows for great cross ventilation. Custom-made cherry cabinets and granite counter tops have been installed in our fully equipped kitchen & bathroom. Porcelain tiles grace the entry, bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom has a large tiled walk-in shower with a corner seat. The condo comes with all the amenities listed above. Added amenities include a Fijitsu A/C mini-split system in the living area & bedroom, FREE SECURE WiFi internet connection, a 40" smart HD TV in the living room & a 32" smart HD TV in the bedroom (both with on-demand), beach toys, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, boogie boards, and tennis rackets for your use during your staying at our condominium. The Pono Kai Resort is a non-smoking property. The resort provides a front desk that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There is onsite free parking. Each building has a coin-operated laundry facility and an elevator. The grounds are beautifully maintained with extensive grass areas, an herb garden so you can pick fresh herbs for your meals and a Koi pond. For your convenience, there is an activities desk so you can arrange for your island adventures. A workout room has also been added. There is a 7-mile multi-use coastal path just steps in front of our condo. There is a pool/spa area and 1 tennis court, 1 pickleball court, ping pong table and many other on-property activities. This was a great condo that I’m definitely interested in staying at again. I appreciated how open and minimalist the layout was while still being well equipped and furnished. Steps away from the ocean and right on the edge of historic Kapa’a, one would be hard pressed for a better location. Check-in and check-out was easy and communication with the host was smooth. 10:00 am check-out was a little early, but you can arrange later if available, and if it was that important to me, I would have. Nice complex, with a pool & hot tub, games available on the property. Also you can sign up for a nice chair massage by Kimo. The condo has literally everything that you need. It wasn’t hard to settle in & make ourselves at home. The extra touches go a long way in making you feel right at home. The view from the deck is really wonderful. Sunrises are extra special. The walking path is a bonus and the beach is right thetr when you walk out to the walking path I didnt swim there,but it's a nice place to hang out. You can walk io all kinds of shopping, restaurants and other activities. Shirley was wonderful to work with, very responsive and super nice! ##### M P. The complex and the apartment is easy to find and front desk staff helpful which made check in a breeze The apartment itself is larger than we expected a one bedroom unit to be and was comfortably furnished and well equipped and provisioned. Sittin on balcony watch the sunrise over the sea and having coffee and breakfast was a great way to start the day. The location of the apartment is great as well - being centrally located it was easy to explore the whole island. We have fallen in love with Kauai and will be back again - hooefully we can get ouraelves sufficiently organised to stay in Shirely's apartment again Thanks for a great stay ##### Paul L. This condo was absolutely incredible; extremely clean, spacious and peaceful. The hosts, Shirley and Tony, are the best! Their communication with us was exceptional, and they were responsive to anything we might have needed. Located on the 2nd floor, the condo is only 100 feet from the ocean, and has a fantastic ocean view from the kitchen, living room and balcony. It was wonderful to be able to hear the gentle ocean waves. The unit was tastefully decorated, and all of the furniture was very comfortable, including the bed. The full-size kitchen has high-quality appliances and was very well stocked with everything we needed to prepare food and drinks. We really appreciated the A/C in the living room and bedroom. The building has an elevator which was very convenient. There were plenty of toiletries and everything you need for the beach including beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, beach towels, etc. Kapaa was the perfect middle ground town with only a 20-30 minute drive to the north and south shores of the island. Easy to get north or south (even though traffic can be quite crazy on Kauai, with a constant flow of cars). You can also just walk right out to restaurants and shops, or stroll along the oceanfront path. Major shopping and markets are close by walking or car. Condo has pretty much everything you need for a nice stay. Although we barely used the kitchen, it has absolutely everything you need. Be cautious not to leave anything out or it will be attacked by little bugs! The direct sunrise is quite amazing and completely unobstructed. Wow! AC in living area and bedroom is fantastic (and a must in muggy hot August!). WiFi was nice and fast. Bathroom is super, and with a walk-in shower. Building in the community is a bit on the older side, but the maintenance team is always out and about keeping things kept up. The walls are quite thin and we did hear footsteps and talking/music from both neighbors above and below us, but it didn’t really bother us, as we were out and about most of the time. Pono Kai is centrally located in Kauai so trips to the north and south are easy to plan. This condo had the perfect amount of space for 2 adults. The east facing (sunrise) living space has plenty of room to move and relax. The living room opens to a beautiful balcony with plenty of room to sit and read or just take in the relaxing views and sounds of the surf. The kitchen is complete with everything you need to cook meals in or just to store the basics and eat out. The cherry cabinets and granite countertops make it obvious that you are staying in a quality condo. The bedroom with a queen bed has all you need to unpack for an extended or short vacation - plenty of closet and drawer storage. Perfect sized safe tucked away in the closet. The large window opens to a rarely used walk space, but can be shaded with lovely privacy shutters. Our favorite space was the beautiful tiled bath. The large walk-in elegant shower was the reason we chose this unit. There is plenty of counter space and more than needed storage. Restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores, souvenir shops, bike rentals, and an ocean side bike/walk path are steps away. Shirley was wonderful to work with.
