I needed to cancel this reservation because of this disappointing turn of events. I messaged the hotel staff during the window of time necessary to cancel without late-cancellation fees, however the staff did not respond to me until after that window had passed, and would not budge on their policy of charging me for the entire stay. "I stayed 3 nights for a conference in Shimonoseki. The hotel is clean, has all the amenities I need, and the onsen was a plus. Hotel provides pyjamas and all sorts of skin care products at no additional charge. The open bar in the evenings was also a nice touch. There are good restaurants within walking distance."

![Railways and trains play a major role in Japan transportation system and it is something all visitors will remember by when they leave Japan. The entire system is very efficient and in my experience all trains are precise and punctual to the minute.

Rail travel is one of the best in Japan and here in the port area of Kokura is a railway museum which displays some old trains and also provide hands on fun for kids bad adults alike.

"Needed to pay 3000 yen per person to go to the pool that was listed as a property amenity. Only those who are on a higher floor have access included with their room. Since we weren't on a top floor room - just the 23rd floor, we were told we would need to pay extra to access it. Really, the pool should not be listed as a property amenity if it's not available for guests unless we pay extra. View was really nice. Staff were really nice. We specifically chose to make a reservation at this hotel because it had a pool."
