Kaanapali is a picturesque and serene region with several luxury resorts and excellent beaches. Make the most of the year-round sunny weather with a trip to the many beaches that line the town’s coast.
Sunbathe during the hot summer months on Kaanapali Beach, which is an idyllic spot with picturesque ocean views. Cool down with a dip in the ocean and go snorkeling to see the range of colorful fish. You can rent diving gear from a tour operator in a nearby mall.
Gaze up at the iconic Black Rock, or Pu’u Keka’a, which is steeped in folklore and tradition. It has an informative plaque explaining the legends surrounding it. Embark on the Kaanapali Historical Trail and Legends Tour for a comprehensive understanding of the regional lore. The trail includes 10 monuments with their own signs. Speak with docents at the local hotels for a deeper cultural understanding.
Take the Kaanapali Beachwalk that extends for 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) across a coastline adorned with lavish spas resorts. Join the many joggers and cyclists on this scenic route.
Enter the Whalers Village mall to browse its many shops, cafés and restaurants overlooking the water. Dine at one of the many international restaurants that decorate the coastline. Relax with a few beers and become accustomed to the slower pace of life here.
Among the highlights of the region is the Kaanapali Golf Resort, where you can practice your swing amid views of the spectacular rolling hills and the ocean.
Find the town on the western flank of the island of Maui. Fly to the small Kapalua West Maui Airport and drive south for a few minutes to get here. Visit nearby communes, such as Lahaina and Kapalua. Get around the region by car or shuttle bus.

Nice room and beach. Room service menu was limited. Water machine on our floor was broken.
The concierge service was excellent. Paying for parking feels like being nickel and diming to me, though.
Close to a grocery store and walking distance from sandy( not rocky) beach. Great group of employees, Christina, Joyce, Juanita , Lady Ann to name a few associates who went above and beyond to assist us when we needed something.
Ocean view room was distant from the ocean. Older gray haired woman running the restaurant was repetitively snide and rude. Nice pool area. Great landscaping. Parking was always an issue.
