Law Brook Farm Cottage set in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (107)
"We spent a week at Law Brook Farm Cottage and we had a lovely stay. The views across Yorkshire from the main window are amazing. The cottage is very well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The shower is great. As the weather was not kind to us, we benefited from the log burner in the evenings and so felt cosy and warm. There are many things to do in the area and a lot of the main attractions are within an hour's drive of the property. Paul welcomed us when we arrived and checked in with...

"The cottage was just as described: clean, well equipped and plenty of character. The large lounge was very comfortable and had wonderful views. It was a great cottage to return to after days out, and Holmfirth had plenty to explore. Overall a lovely stay"

"Lovely cosy cottage with a fantastic view. It was quite a walk to the nearest pub but very close to lovely walks for the dog. We were staying over Christmas so visiting family on most of the days but able to spend a couple of evenings in the cottage. Some lovely touches with the fairy lights and the procseco to celebrate the season. Would love to stay again in the summer and be able to sit out with a glass of wine and admire the view. Very comfy bed( the best ever in a holiday let) and all the...

Traditional cottage with stunning views and walks on the doorstep.

"We loved the location and felt very much at home in a comfortable home. Particularly liked the armchair in the window overlooking the reservoir. We were walking 7 “Ethels” in the Dark Peak and all were easily accessible from Martha’s Cottage so ideal for our purposes. Pie Night at the Pickled Pheasant was also a nice discovery!"

Country cottage close to the Peak District with stunning Holme Valley views
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (30)
"The little house is beautifully decorated and clean, with comfy beds, good quality tasteful furnishings, nice modern kitchen with everything you need. The only downside for us was the road alongside the property garden - a lovely courtyard, secure for the dogs but quite a lot of noise from passing idiots driving too fast or on awful noisy motorbikes. Didn’t spoil our stay but it is a shame, as the house is well located for fabulous walks and sightseeing but the road is a drawback. Otherwise...

The Old Bridge Inn, Holmfirth, West Yorkshire
4.0 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (451)
"The room we had (no.32) was ‘pokey’. We felt the meals, coffees etc were expensive- the same as London prices. The receptionist did not explain very well how to get into the hotel’s car park, using the Picture Drome as a significant point. You don’t see it until you have passed it. The people coming out of the night club were noisy until 2am affecting our sleep. We wouldn’t recommend it to friends and we come to the area annually and will be unlikely to stay again"
