About this property

High End Lakefront Home in gated community with canoe, 2 fireplaces, pets ok

  • It absolutely doesn’t get more comfortable than Boathouse Lane. With high end décor and all the comforts and spaciousness of home, this cabin is perfectly cozy for a couple but it really shines as a place to entertain. The Location: Boathouse Lane is perfectly situated in the corridor between Highlands and Cashiers. It’s in a gated community on the serene backdrop of Lake Ravenel . It’s just far enough from the beaten path that you will have privacy but close enough that dinner/shopping on Main Street is quick jaunt away. The Property: Boathouse Lane is privately located on a large lakefront lot with no other homes on the street. The neighborhood takes attention to detail seriously and has meticulously captured the natural beauty of the areas while blending in charming high-end homes. The driveway is flat and not the least bit intimidating with only one step to the main door. There is a small grass yard for frolicking and beautiful landscaping that is indigenous to the area. The Cabin: Boathouse Lane has all brand new high end finishes, including wood walls, wood ceilings, a soaring stone hearth fireplace inside and another wood burning fireplace outside, a spacious outdoor screened porch, and oversized King suites with ensuite bathrooms to match. The Layout: From the front door, guests enter into an open foyer that leads into the large dining area for 10. The kitchen is to the right and looks onto the large gathering room with two different living spaces and a sliding door that leads to an oversized screen porch with wood-burning fireplace. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, a King master suite with an impressively large his and hers ensuite bathroom featuring his and hers toilets and vanities, a double-soded shower, and a large soaking tub. Another King bedroom with ensuite bath can also be found on the main floor and it has a bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Up the stairs to another landing nook with more intimate seating leading to an additional oversized King master suite with his and hers ensuite bathroom featuring a soaking tub, seamless shower, and double vanities. On the other side of the seating area, there is a small hallway leading to a bunkroom with 2 Twin beds and an ensuite bathroom featuring a small shower and vanity. Oh, and we won’t spoil the secret but there are some fun secret hiding places for the kids built throughout the house. The Area: Highlands is the premier mountain destination in the Southeast. Lined with shopping, dining, museums and galleries, the bustling mountain village centering around Main Street is straight from a Norman Rockwell painting. Previously a summer/fall hotspot, it’s quickly becoming a year-round destination. At 4,118 feet, it’s one of the few temperate rain forests in North America, bringing botanists and nature lovers from all over the world. Highlands is also a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts. With an abundance of opportunities for biking, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, and whitewater rafting, adventure-seekers will not find a more beautiful backdrop. The Details: The living room and all bedrooms have large flat screen TV’s and fiber-optic cable and wifi. The kitchen has an large chef’s range, toaster, drip coffee-maker is stocked with general kitchen essentials and then some. This property is pet friendly with prior approval and a nominal pet fee. Parking for up to 4 cars is available. This property is located within a gated community, which requires a 1 week minimum rental. Rentals are Saturday to Saturday in high season.

**We cannot be responsible for weather related/ and or personal emergency issues affecting travel. All guests are encouraged to obtain travel insurance.

** Parking for up to 3 cars available. Parking is shared with the carriage house and renters will need to be comfortable backing down the small hill.

5 Stars – Boathouse Lane is an Absolute Dream! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We just had the best week at Boathouse Lane — honestly one of the nicest short-term rentals we’ve ever stayed in. The location is perfect: tucked in a quiet, gated community right on peaceful Lake Ravenel with old-growth trees and total privacy (no neighbors on the street!). Yet you’re still just a quick drive from Highlands or Cashiers for dinner or shopping. The cabin feels brand new and so high-end — beautiful shiplap walls, soaring windows with lake views, and that big stone fireplace. The open layout is great for groups: big dining table for 8, comfy sofas everywhere, and a kitchen where everyone can hang out with the cook. Our favorite spot by far was the huge screened porch with its own wood-burning fireplace and TV — we basically lived out there! The outdoor fireplace and the dock with rocking chairs made sunset watching pure magic. The sleeping setup was perfect for our multi-generational crew: three spacious king suites (the main master bath is insane with his-and-hers everything and a huge tub), plus a cute loft with two twins and its own bath. It’s the rare place that feels both luxurious and like a true home. We left completely relaxed and already planning our next trip back. Highly recommend — you won’t want to leave! Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you to the owners for this special spot!
