Located within walking distance to the famed Whiteside Mountain hiking trail (the most popular hike in North Carolina), the High House offers guests bright and airy getaway with open living areas, fully stocked chef's kitchen, massive covered porch with gas fireplace and two grills, and 3 inviting and spacious bedrooms, each featuring king beds and private baths, as well as a guest half bath for the main living area. It was immaculately clean, and the host responded to our questions and requests very quickly. However, the fireplace on the deck didn't work, and since that was one of the main reasons we chose this place, we were very disappointed. The host told us it had been acting up and that he would see if it could be put on the schedule to be fixed, but it wasn't fixed while we were there (for 3 nights). As a result, we didn't use the beautiful deck as much as we would have liked to. It seems to us that the fireplace should have been in working order before we arrived. Check out was very easy, we just had to take the trash out and close the door behind us. As I said, it is a beautiful home, and the manager was very quickly responsive. ##### Kathy K.
