I dint realize i booked smoking room but kept it...due to my daughter wanting a pool. Rate was ok but for traveling for a funeral, i think a discount would have been respectful.

"Had a wonderful night staying at the Douglas Fir. Rooms were big and clean and the hotel was quiet. Only wish is that the pool was open in the morning so we could have gone for a swim before leaving! But the kids play one made up for the pool not being open!"

Oil patch town suffering from turndown in economy and the wild fires. Rather quiet for the season. I’ve seen it much busier and more challenging to find hotels.
