"We stayed here for a wedding at The State Chateau of Hluboka. The room was spacious, breakfast was good (basic), and the grounds were lovely to walk around.
The big negative we experienced was when ordering a taxi at reception to the train station, they had said they ordered a taxi and an older lady turned up in her personal car which was not a metered taxi. We got ripped off and had to dip into the cash reserves as didn’t have the energy or time to argue, it was very disappointing the hotel would do this. "
"We stayed at Hotel Podhrad to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is on th the expensive side, but in line with the surrounding options.
The parking areas available are scattered around, so be prepared to walk a bit in case the adjacent parking spots are taken.
The included breakfast was okay, but a bit lacking compared to other hotels we've been to in the Czech Republic.
The rooms are okay in general:
- There is no air conditioning.
- The water temperature in the shower seems to fluctuate and there is no holder for the shower head to comfortably wash your hair.
- The English TV channels, as few as they are, do not work.
- The pillows are very, very thin.
The included wellness amenities include a Finnish sauna, hot tub and small swimming pool. Massages are available at an extra cost and need to be scheduled in advance."
