We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these "house rules" during your stay.
LICENSE AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a license agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the license agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled. The agreement will be sent via text message, so please be sure your phone number is correct before booking.
AGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID. The guest who books must stay at the property--you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.
QUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property's quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by county ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every individual on the property may face a misdemeanor criminal charge and be subject to a fine by the county of $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund.
Past noise complaints have always come from groups of 20-somethings. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. Find another place for your trip so you do not have your trip terminated early and without refund.
NOISE MONITORING AND SECURITY CAMERA: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. We also have a security camera that records the front door and driveway. This allows us to facilitate remote check in and monitor the property between guests.
ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Guests will not be held responsible for damage caused during their stay (up to a maximum of $1,500) if 1) the damage is accidental, and 2) the damage is reported as soon as possible, and by no later than the check out time.
POSSIBLE BACKGROUND CHECK: We reserve the right to use a third-party to verify the guest's identity and check criminal databases to finalize the reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.
NO PETS: No exceptions, sorry. Please don't ask whether we can allow your perfectly house-trained, hypoallergenic labradoodle to join because we can't :-)
DOG ALLERGY WARNING: While we do not allow pets, there have been dogs in this house before. Those with severe dog allergies may want to find a different place to stay.
STEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain and the driveway to the property can be very steep. In the snow it can be difficult to access the property. At all other times access is not difficult, but driving on steep mountain roads may make some people nervous. If that sounds like you, it might be better to reserve a property that is not along the top of the Blue Ridge. Steep mountain roads are often what it takes to get incredible views like the ones from this cabin, and those who can manage the drive won't be disappointed!
REMOTE LOCATION: Please be aware that this cabin is a good 20 min drive from the nearest full-service grocery store. If you're looking for seclusion, this is it! But if you prefer being close to store then this may not be the place for you.
SNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the house. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the house early.
BUGS: This is a house in the woods--that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the house. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF HOT TUB : The hot tub remains open year round. If you use the hot tub it is your responsibility to ensure the water remains chemically balanced and safe to use before you use it. By using the hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
NO SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the house. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else--butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.
SHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.
SEPTIC SYSTEM: This house has a septic system. Grease and oil must never be allowed down any of the sink drains. Feminine hygiene products must be thrown away in a trash can and not flushed down a toilet. Never flush solid trash down the toilet or into a sink drain.
NO FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed.
NO FIREARMS: Guests may not bring firearms or ammunition inside the house.
NO ILLEGAL DRUGS: Guests may not possess or consume any illegal drugs on the property, including cannabis.

Amazing property for a large group. Everyone had plenty of space and couldn’t get over the amazing views. Communication with property manager was fantastic.
Perfect place for friends to celebrate a birthday!
The cabin was cozy and had all that we wanted and needed. The views of the sunset and mountains from the hot tub, back deck, and even from inside the cabin were spectacular. The walk to the AT access point was easy to get to. The host was very accommodating when one guest had a flat tire and we needed to delay check out. A very relaxing weekend! Definitely plan to return to this cabin for sure!!!
We had a wonderful girls weekend at Rebels Roost Ct! The views at this house are spectacular. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets both nights. We coordinated an amazing tour of the local wineries on Saturday and spent one afternoon time eating and shopping in downtown Harpers Ferry. The area is beautiful!
This was an incredible property! The pictures do not do the view justice!! Very remote, however that is what we were looking for. WIFI was great as my wife worked from home, check in process was great and don’t get me started on the hot tub overlooking the Mountain View! We will be back!!
My sisters and I and our mother had a long weekend getaway here. We loved how secluded the property was and the view was gorgeous! There was plenty of space for us and a nice collection of books and games. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the fire pit.
Aside from a few minor cosmetic things that could be improved (fresh paint in some areas and tall weeds outside), the cabin was in great shape. One suggestion I'd like to add is a better cleaning of the basement. Nice space for families and kids, but lots of dead bugs and dust on and under surfaces (couch).
We frequently rent houses for this kind of "long weekend getaway" and our overall experience at Rebels Rest was what we hoped it would be. The view is AMAZING, the location is private and quiet, the house is decorated with personality, the furniture is comfortable and there's a surprising amount of usable space. We had a few issues with appliances but management was quick to respond. There were spots where some additional painting/cleaning/upgrading would be appreciated but our stay was really enjoyable and we'd recommend it for a family getaway. We went to Harpers Ferry for the day and had a fun meal at the White Horse Tavern (both recommended) but spent most of our time just relaxing at the house, playing games (foosball and pop-a-shot in the basement!), reading (they have a GREAT selection of books, fiction and nonfiction) and relaxing.
My running group and I stayed here for a short and relaxing trip away from Northern VA. We loved the views and the cabin - if not for the smell emanating from one of the main floor bedrooms, we would give this property an over all 5 stars!
The smell only seemed to dissipate when we had doors and windows open but would return to the bedroom once things were closed up. We didn’t get much help from the owners. Not sure how our friend slept either night in the room - it was not a pleasant smell. Best we could tell, it was coming from the mattress.
But amazing views, well stocked kitchen, comfy furniture - perfect place to go and be completely lazy for our getaway!! The sunsets both nights were amazing!!

Beautiful Sunsets, older cabin, not too steep of a drive up, outside deck is nice and fire pit area out front! Harper’s Ferry Area is cute and full of history! Be in shape to hike and climb while you are here, especially if you plan on doing a ghost walk after walking the town all day! 5 friends girls trip was great!
If you are looking for a getaway from all the noise, then this is the place for you. The back balcony overlooking the valley was perfect for relaxing and watching sunsets.
We really enjoyed our long weekend here. Quiet. Beautiful view. Plenty of room and fun things to do for our teenager. Close to Harpers Ferry and great hiking trails.
This place had the most amazing views of the mountains and the Shenandoah river. The place was very clean and the beds were comfortable as well. There was only one issue with the TV in the play area, but that was resolved. We will definitely stay here again sometime in the future.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The place was perfectly set up for our group of adults & kids. The property was well cared for & clean. The view can’t be beat. And communication with the manager was seamless. Would stay here again. Thanks!
