"The stay here was great! We will be back. We had the 1 bedroom suite for our family of 4 and it worked out perfect for us. It had a kitchen and everything you needed to cook with and dishes plus towels for both pool and bath. They thought of everything! We Just brought our own food to cook and drinks as they do not offer any at this resort. You need to drive out to buy food and only few places will deliver. The surrounding areas are beautiful lands of farms, peaceful and quiet and a cute little town in Galena that you can walk around with lots of boutique shops and some restaurants. Everything closes down by 5pm for the most part there, except maybe the restaurants. We were very impressed with the landscape of the whole area and outdoor activities. The resort was kept very clean and it was not so crowded so we had the use of the pool and game room almost to ourselves most of the time. Staff and even guests were very friendly. The only thing was their issue with lady bugs. Apparently it's an issue they have during this season. So we saw them throughout the resort and a few in our room but it wasn't that bad and they are harmless. Definately stay here if you want to enjoy the outdoors or need a quiet and relaxing vacation."

"The room was clean, the staff was courteous and the pool and gym were very nice. The hotel is a lovely old building and it has been well maintained. We would enjoy staying there again."

"The pool and hot tub were very nice and very clean! Overall, the property is in fairly good condition. There are just scuff marks on the walls and spots where the woodwork has been scratched. Just needs an update but was very comfortable and cozy place to stay."

"The staff at the waterpark was a little rude and both my kids (10 and 13) said more than one swore in their presence. One specifically said “my boss is on my A” (said the full word but it won’t let me send my review with it) "

"This was the second time that I stayed at Hotel Galena. I was in town with my wife, we visited for Galena's Whiskey Weekend. We both really enjoyed the convenience and affordability of the hotel. It's quaint space gives a bed and breakfast feel, with the privacy of a small hotel. The rooms are clean and fresh, with a nod to Galena's rich history. The continental breakfast is satisfying with biscuits and gravy, hardboiled eggs, granola, fresh coffee and juices. The breakfast room is a place where we got a chance to interact with other guests. Nate and his staff were welcoming and charming. There is a small kitchen on the third floor with a refrigerator to keep your leftovers and travel food while you stay at the hotel. It is far enough from the main street where you can have some space but walk to the sites and leave your vehicle behind. A great value."

"Nice location if wanting to visit downtown Galena. Hotel has a shuttle that will take you there. Restaurant attached to the hotel had good food and drinks. Nightly entertainment was also good. Would stay there again when visiting the area."
