This place was beautiful .. the penthouse had amazing amenities that worked perfectly. The staff was very polite. We will definitely be coming back here for another stay !
This was one of the coolest stays on our honeymoon roadtrip. You really can’t beat it if you’re staying in Halifax. We stayed in the penthouse suite and had a personal hot tub, sauna, double balcony, and breakfast delivered to the room each morning. Beautiful, modern, clean, and affordable for what you get. We highly recommend dinner at Bar Kismet nearby.
The property is ok and we had a quiet night. It is however advised to make it practical to access the main entrance which has a cumbersome access procedure. We were assisted by the staff.

This hotel promised a lot but was a bit disappointing. All the doors, inside and out, were difficult to open, or broken, the bathroom was also home to the boiler at head-hitting height, and the washer / dryer. There was no where to place your clothes in the bathroom. The towels had not been laundered properly and smelt funky. The complimentary coffee bar only supplied one coffee at breakfast. The walls and ceiling were thin and we were woken at 3:30 am by loud noises from the room above.
Positives were, the bed was surprisingly comfy for a simple metal frame bed, the location was quiet and suburban and they did make efforts to accommodate our gluten intolerance. The one cup of coffee we got was very nice too!
Beautiful spot, found it strange no TV in room
but the facilities and amenities (hot tub, sauna) was amazing feature.
Unfortunately I was there for work so with breakfast being late, I was unable to have any.
Our review is based on a four night stay. This property has the potential to be a 5 Star property. However, the lack of attention to detail, cleanliness and service downgrade it significantly. If you rent the Penthouse, be aware you will have to carry up your luggage. There are two flights of stairs to enter the building and another two to reach the Penthouse. This is not made clear in the description. One of the Hosts was kind enough to carry our bags for us (maybe because of our age). The breakfasts were meagre and some of the fare was outdated. The Penthouse could use a couple of small garbage cans, A TV, a writing desk and chair and MOST OF ALL A NEW BED!! It's an old memory foam that has lost it's memory completely. We slept in deep canals with great discomfort. The doors to the balconies off the Penthouse don't lock and the balconies weren't clean. On the positive side they offer two charging stations for EV's and it is a great location. Until the many negative comments we and others have made in previous reviews are corrected, WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.
We arrived shortly after 3pm and were greeted by a hostess in pyjamas. The penthouse was beautiful, but There was duct tape on lots of the ceiling, a drip that dripped brown liquid into the bathroom vanity. We had to remove the drain with a butter knife in the tub. It was a bit strange. The sauna controls are falling off of the wall. I tried to turn on the shower accessories hose and the knob fell off. Along with that, one of the knobs to the tub is clearly broken and repaired poorly, allowing no control of one side of the jets. The patio was great but some deck furniture would have been nice to enjoy the space. The hot tub was nice and hot but we couldn’t figure out the controls (lights and jets) and we enjoyed the outdoor sauna. When we were in the common space there was loads of laundry on the island, and the hostess was eating supper and on face time. We made our breakfast requests for 9:00. We came down and there was no one there but other guests. I reached out at 9:30 to ask if we should expect her, or go elsewhere. She told us she was stuck in traffic.. We made an espresso, but We opened the almond milk and it was so rotten the plastic lid was rotting off of the carton. There was juice in the fridge that expired in February (it’s March 29) there was not enough cream for two coffees. We opted out of our late check in to get out of there. The chef/hostess never responded to me when I texted her back about the delay. There is a live in host that never came to let us know
I stayed a year ago and it was 10/10. This time was not good. There are main doors broken, there use to be a hostess to tell you where to go and where things, there no longer is. All the doors were open when we got there to everyone’s “private” rooms. The hottub was so gross I found so much hair in it, and it smelled so musty I don’t know the last time it was cleaned. It’s sooo dirty, every counter in the shared areas, and my side table in my room. There was supposed to be a breakfast which we never got, there was no one there, just the three guests and that didn’t make me feel good; I liked the hostess for an extra level of safety. I will not be back. The difference of service from this time and last time is night and day.

I recently stayed at The Halifax Rooftop Home and can see the vision behind the space. It’s modern, amenity‑focused, and visually impressive. The hot tub, steam shower, decor, and overall futuristic design were standout features, and the space is surprisingly large for a penthouse-style room.
However, several comfort and practicality issues affected the stay. The biggest problem was the bed. The memory foam mattress sank so deeply that it felt like a king‑size cot on a loose, squeaky metal frame. By morning, my back and hips were sore.
The room has a lot of built‑in tech, but the instructions weren’t clear. We spent a lot of time figuring out the blinds, remotes, and other systems. The hot tub was great once running, but the only water source is a slow waterfall-style shower head. The sauna warmed slightly but never reached a true sauna temperature.
A few basics were missing: only one garbage can, no tissues, and a sign asking guests to use makeup wipes even though none were provided. The toilet is mounted unusually high. Checkout is listed as 10am, though the owner was gracious in allowing us to stay until 11am.
The hot tub, steam shower, decor, fireplace heating, and storage were genuinely enjoyable, but clearer instructions and a better bed would make this a much stronger stay.
The staff was great but the property needs some love. There was a broken door handle leading out to the backyard hot tub area, the bed was ok but a bit creaky.
My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay. It was everything we wanted. There were some compromises but we were fine with it. Such a beautiful place and memory. We will definitely be back when we visit Halifax again! Thanks so much!!
The room reminds me of a jail cell as there is no separation of the toilet or shower from the room. If you’d like to poop in peace don’t stay here as your options are to use the downstairs powder room. Had a terrible night sleep as you can hear everything and the person on the squeaky bed the floor above us. This is not a typical bed and breakfast. The instructions told us the host would be here until 5pm and we arrived at 4:45 and had to learn about the house ourselves. Instructions said our names would be on the room doors and nothing. The mattress feels like a futon on a steel frame that is also noisy.

Privacy in a double room when using the toilet would be stellar , even a curtain
