![The famous pink lakes of Mexico, Rio Lagartos. A magical sight! Pink waters and blue sky, It was like sunset reversed; a feast for eyes! There are plenty of colorful salt lakes near Las Coloradas/Rio Lagartos in the Yucatan peninsula. It is just 2 hours drive away from Chichén Itzá and around 3 hours from Cancun. Public transport is scarce in this part of Mexico. 
We took a rental car and it was an easy and comfortable journey for us :) Once we reached Las Coloradas, we were welcomed by giant white salt mountains. After driving around the salt mountains for some time, we finally found someone local who took us to this beautiful private salt lake.

« I liked the open communication from the host and were prompt to bring anything I needed. Housekeeping were very friendly. As it was self catering it would have been nice to have a toaster and hairdryer as standard. The pool was lovely and the security at the gate was good. The condo was lovely. »

« We have rented this condo seven times over the last four years. It’s clean, contemporary, and has just what you need to prepare a few meals. The hostess greeted us with a bottle of wine and the first couple of days the housekeeping staff folded our towels into adorable animals. All staff members at Cancun Plaza are so kind and gracious. The pool is beautiful, the ocean is beautiful, the little restaurant down by the pool is awesome. You will meet great people from around the world! Pay attention...
