While some of the reviews mentioned noise in some of the suites, we only heard guests downstairs when we were in the bathroom and then only in the afternoon. It was quiet in the evening / night. It was a great place to stay after a 5,000 mile trip from the Western US and recover from jet lag before going on to meet friends and family elsewhere in the UK. (It’s about a hour from Heathrow). The ford was good, the beer excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. And amazing to think that it’s been an alehouse and then an Inn since 1383\. Lovely old building with loads of character. All areas were spotlessly clean & tidy. Food and drinks were again excellent. Our visit was during COVID-19 restrictions and was run very well with customer safety in mind. A special mention to Hannah, Daniel & Kiera for their attention to detail and customer satisfaction. Would give them and the rest of the staff top marks in all areas. I was on crutches for this visit, the staff were incredibly helpful and could not do enough to help. Food was good.
