Exceptional stay

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff are exceptional, rooms lovely, beds super comfortable and the food amazingly good. We went for a local wedding and the location was perfect.

Hidden little gem

Hidden gem friendly warm welcome very spacious room, comfortable bed the pillows were brilliant slept really well, Nespresso machine for a coffee in the morning. Would recommend staying here

The Swan is such a great place. I suspect those from the UK love it equally, however visiting from North America makes the experience even more unique and special. If I were to think of a quintessential English Inn & Pub…. This would be it. We loved having “a pint” outside in the backyard garden, we slept well in our clean room, the food was excellent and mostly…. The service fantastic. Highly recommend and will be back!

Quaint Inn: Warm Hospitality, Thoughtful Touches

Check-in was a breeze, and we were promptly escorted to our generously sized room. A delightful surprise awaited our furry friend—a thoughtful gift of treats and a tennis ball. While the room boasted charming décor and ample comfort, there were minor indications that cleaning could have been more thorough, with traces of dust on certain surfaces and toiletries not replenished. Nevertheless, our stay at this quaint inn in a picturesque village was delightful, thanks to the warm hospitality of the staff.

Pretty much average in every respect. Room not as clean is it should have been. Various stains on carpets, walls, upholstery, etc. Bed comfy though. Even meal expensive while ribeye steak small for what was supposed to be 8oz and poor quality. Breakfast plentiful and above average. An overrated establishment.

A few niggles but still enjoyed stay

Friendly staff .excellent parking. Good atmosphere in the bar and excellent sunday roast. Didnt have breakfast as choice looked poor on the continental table with tired looking fruit choices . No muesli or grapefruit or melon or any freshly prepared fruit. Room was pleasant but all needs refreshing and a deep clean. Had to ask for coffee pods and body wash dispenser empty .issues addressed very professionally and sorted efficiently. Advised refurbishments are planned.

Not happy

Disaster from non-start. Rebooked stay not sent to hotel. No rooms available. Sent to sister hotel in Haslemere. Superior room allegedly, but no comparison to what I should have stayed in. Ripped wallpaper, soiled toilet, not enough staff in bar/ restaurant. Tonsillitis didn't help, but Upham Inns have some work to do to get back to where they were 12 months ago. Sad. I might add, I have stayed in both properties previously, The Swan has always been exceptional, Harper's Haslemere never really floated my boat in comparison. The mix up of the booking, with not much sympathy from the staff, just a " we have a room in Haslemere" after a 3 hour drive was not the best news. After contacting Hotels.com, they arranged the swap, although they did offer to find an alternative and I wish I had agreed. Also they gave me a generous discount count for my next booking. Really quite sad, I love the Swan, but think my time staying there has come to an end.
