Sunset View on Lakeshore Drive

This 1,600 square foot home has a stunning view overlooking the Tittabawassee River.  Three bedrooms (1 king & 2 queen beds) and a set of bunk beds in the sunroom. There is a large dining room to enjoy family meals together. Complimentary coffee bar provided.  The finished garage/game room gives you even more room to spread out and enjoy your stay. The large, deep lot has plenty of room for off-street parking.  The home has a Generac generator in case of emergencies.
Centrally located in Gladwin County in the “Wooden Shoe” area located near M-61 & M-30. Only 16 miles from I-75 and 21 miles from US-127.  Gladwin County has thousands of acres of state land with trail systems for ORV adventures or Jeep rides.  Located in the heart of Amish Country.  In town on the Cedar River there are kayak, canoe and tube rentals available.   30 minutes from Standish casino.  There are several local golf courses, or up the road, in West Branch you will find The Dream and The Nightmare in West Branch which are both scenic and challenging courses.
(Typically, this body of water is known as Smallwood Lake.  Due to severe flooding in May 2020, the dam creating the lake had to be lowered for repairs.  We now just have the natural flow of the river.  Repairs are scheduled to be complete and the lake to be restored in late summer 2024.  The pictures shown are of the current water level with a bit of fluctuation in spring/summer.)

Great weekend getaway
This was a lovely cabin for a weekend getaway. The weather wasn't particularly favorable, but the view was still beautiful and the inside of the cabin was very cozy.

Family Wedding Weekend
We booked to attend a wedding at Crooked River and this house served the 8 adults well. There were plenty of linens, comfortable beds and all the kitchen items we needed. We ate all our meals here as you are outside of Gladwin in a lakeside setting. We enjoyed the campfire ring and the owners made firewood available for you to use. They also had a complimentary coffee bar, which was a nice touch. We had beautiful weather and the lake was quiet (except for the nightly honking geese :), due to it being off-season. The only thing that could be an issue for some, is the bathrooms are very small, especially the one off the master bedroom. It was a very pleasant stay.

Cousins Reunion
Our stay was to visit family for the weekend. Home is great for large gatherings but lake is not accessible. Understand dam broke & most of the lake has drained away. Could watch ducks, geese & cranes but could not get into water. Easy access to highways & great little family restaurant just around corner.

Nice Stay
The house was really nice and clean. We enjoyed the area, it was quiet at night and the neighbors either weren't there or stayed inside. Other than the small bathroom being really small, it was nice stay. Dianna was a super host! She replied promptly to my text. I left something behind and she mailed it back to me the next day! Things like that don't usually happen to me so I was very grateful

Great weekend getaway
As advertised. Well maintained older home right on the water. Plenty of room & games to play, even Foosball in the garage. We would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful and Relaxing
We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was equipped with everything we needed and was very clean and inviting. We loved watching the wildlife -- flocks of geese coming in at dusk, the baby ducks, cranes and just this morning two beautiful swans with their baby swan. So peaceful and relaxing - just what we needed. Thank you for sharing your property, we look forward to returning!

Gladwin visit
Property was as described. All were satisfied . Because 2 were slightly handicapped I would suggest railings on front and back entrances for others with similar conditions.
