The Violet Hour is defined as that magical moment between afternoon and evening when the whole world stops and everything feels possible. It Is the best possible time at the beach! Imagine spending every hour of your vacation in a place that feels this magical! The Violet Hour condo is a perfectly dreamy fantasy vacation setting from the ocean view balcony to the exquisite décor and whimsical paint colors. The living room is large enough for a family gathering with lots of comfortable seating and a flat panel TV. There is lots of natural light and an arched opening into the dining room which hosts a table big enough for a feast or a fun round of dominoes or cards. The magnificent kitchen is equipped to cook delicious meals or midnight snacks. The well stocked kitchen is equipped with smooth top electric stove, oven microwave, garbage disposal, dishwasher, side by side refrigerator with large freezer, dishware, utensils, cookware, 3 crock pots a Keurig, and also a drip coffee maker, and island bar with seating for 2, breakfast table with seating for 4 and a separate dining room with seating for 10\. There are dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans provided. The primary bedroom has a gold-leaf Phyllis Morris canopy Cali king bed. To add to this luxurious ambiance the bed faces two windows with beachfront views. There are chest of drawers and a huge closet for storing your vacation wardrobe. There is also a beautiful twin bed. You can also relax in your bed watching your favorite shows on the flat panel tv or sleeping late with the black out curtains drawn. The ensuite bathroom adds to the opulent surroundings with a giant lighted mirror and long counter for a royal makeover or just a freshen up. There is a deep soaking tub for a soothing bath and the separate shower is large and tiled. There is a walk-in closet and a stacked washer dryer for your convenience. The three other bedrooms are as sumptuous as the first. Bedroom 2 has a Cali king. This bedroom has a private balcony and a large flat screen tv. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed, TV, closets, and a beautiful ocean view and leads into a jack and jill bathroom. Bedroom four has a king bed, a TV, and also connects to the jack and jill bathroom. All of the bedrooms are provided with luxury bedding and pillows. The bathrooms have plenty of plush towels, body soaps, shampoo, and conditioner for your convenience. The Violet Hour is located in The Dawn Condominiums voted #1 condos in Galveston with a Bahamian village full of brightly colored seaside huts among swaying palms and red tile walkways. To arrive at your condo you travel up 2 flights of stairs too the third floor and can’t help but notice the beautifully manicured grounds, two pools open year- round (one is heated) plus a large hot tub, and several places to grill with ample outdoor seating and tables. The convention center is only 10 blocks from here along with Walmart, lots of the restaurants on Seawall Blvd, and Babe’s Beach right in front and all easily walkable! For other fun venues and events the Trolley stops directly in front of the complex. The cost for a ride on the Trolley is only $1.00 and kids ride free. For those who prefer to skip the cooking and enjoy the local cuisine, Galveston Island presents a myriad of choices. The seawall has a gorgeous view and a long list of eating establishments from gourmet burgers to fine dining and world-renowned family restaurants. To name a few of our favorites… The Spot, Mario’s Seawall Italian and Pizzeria, Gaido’s, The Steakhouse (in The San Luis), Rudy and Paco’s, Willy G.’s, Katie’s Seafood House, and many more! You won’t regret spending time in a place where the magical Violet Hour never ends. NOTES This condo is on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators. However "The View at the Top is Always Worth the Climb!" Be prepared to take 2 flights of stairs to the front door. All reservations at The Dawn Condominiums require a parking fee per vehicle. The fee is $40 for the first 3 nights or $50 for 4 or more per car for parking upon arrival at The Dawn. When registering at The Dawn guests will receive their pool/gym bands (up to 10) and access codes for parking gates, walk-through gates and for the fitness center. Pool/gym bands should be returned to The Dawn prior to departure. Guests with limited mobility should consider parking and stairs to access unit, as The Dawn does not have elevators. Staying at the Violet Hour was okay but we did have multiple issues. For starters i did not know that we would be staying on the 3rd floor, that was a challenge seeing my wife had recent surgery. The A/C filters were very dirty and we went to Walmart for new ones. Multiple chairs were loose and broken. The first night the freezer wasn't working our ice cream melted and we had to throw it away. Among other minor issues the property staff worked quickly to resolve all these issues. Condo staff were friendly. Great location right across from the beach. Stairs got a little tiring when having to carry stuff up and down. The condo itself was a bit dated with fixtures falling apart. The kitchen had everything that would be needed. Didn’t end up using the pool facilities but it looked nice enough. ##### Michelle B. Across street from Babe's Beach and nice view. First week of May...no one is there, the water is warm. We had restaurant reservations, but could have walked in anywhere. First off, the condo was gorgeous.None of us wanted to leave. All of the girls were obsessed with the bath bombs and wanted to soak in that luxurious tub. The main room had the most amazing view, and we were able to watch the sunrise in bed. The kitchen was fully stocked, and labeled so it was easy to find what we were looking for and they definitely had everything we were looking for in a kitchen. There were great instructions for everything we needed on the trip. There were even menus for all of the local restaurants, which was helpful for on the go times we didn’t want to cook. We have decided that it is the perfect location, close to everything but far enough that the beach isn’t crowded. We will absolutely be back for another trip. Our hostess was so informative and organized and really made it all a smooth weekend. ##### Stephanie B.
