This home is in a neighborhood where the HOA prohibits large noisy parties. it provides a relaxing atmosphere with clean beaches and beautiful sunrises. It is in a desirable area of Galveston near San Luis Pass in the Playa San Luis community (Next to the Pointe West community). The beach is only a 4 minute walk away from the house without having to get onto a main road. This home has been recently updated with granite countertops in the kitchen and a dining room with a dining table that seats 8. It can comfortably accommodate 6 people - but could fit as many as 8 with the provided air mattress. There are 3 bedrooms in the house. The master bedroom has a King-size bed with a walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom. The guest bedroom also has a king size bed with it's own ensuite bathroom. The third bedroom has a queen size bed. It shares the bathroom in the hallway. The house has central air conditioning. The living room has an HDTV with a Blu-ray DVD player from which you can stream movies and shows from Netflix (Note No Cable TV). Wi-Fi Internet access is included so that you can stay connected to the world if you so desire. The back yard is fenced in so you have a place for your dog to relax. There is a charcoal grill on the concrete pad downstairs. A Washer and Dryer is available for your convenience as necessary. A limited number of towels, beach towels and linens will be provided as part of the cleaning fee. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, a blender and a Keurig coffee maker with a supply of K-Cups. There is a full size stove and oven, microwave and fridge. The Galveston Sea Wall is about a 25 minute drive away, where you'll find restaurants, entertainment, putt-putt golf and other shops. The historic Pleasure Pier (Amusement center) is also on the Sea Wall. Note that major grocery stores are 30 minutes away, so plan accordingly. There are small local grocery (convenience) stores within a 5-10 minute drive of the house. The following is a nearby grocery store that is decently stocked (Hours are as of the time we wrote this): \- Seven Seas - 17527 Termini san Luis Pass Rd. Open 7a-10p - 409-737-1152 The following are restaurants nearby (Hours are as of the time we wrote this): \- The Pointe Restaurant and Bar - 4161 Pointe West Dr. Open Wed-Sat 11a-ip, Sun: 11a-6p, Mon-Tue Closed - 409-220-3030 \- Nate's Westend Seafood & Steaks - 17515 Termini-San Luis Pass Rd - Sun-Thu 11a-9p, Fri-Sat 11a-10p - 409-737-9530 Please also note that there are no restaurants (that we know of) that deliver to this area. Moody Gardens is about 25 minutes away, while Schlitterbahn (water park) is also about 25 minutes away. You could start your day off with some fresh coffee on the deck as you enjoy the sea views and beaches. Then get ready for the beach. There is a beach cart in the garage downstairs where you'll find umbrellas, and chairs. For families with little kids, there are also beach toys in the garage. The walk to the beach is a short 4 minutes inside the property, over a wooden bridge that protects the dunes, then you're right on the beach. You can walk for several miles in either direction. After your day at the beach, please enjoy a nice rinse in the outdoor shower downstairs before you go upstairs! You could spend a day exploring the shops and restaurants on Sea Wall Blvd. Then come home and have a bar-b-que in the yard. On another day, you could do an hour long horseback ride on the Beach! (This is the Galveston Island Horse and Pony Rides at East Beach). On that same day, you might as well also visit the Strand where there are more shops and restaurants. When you get back to the house, the experience of relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine or a cocktail, while absorbing the wonderful atmosphere of a beach retreat is a great way to top off each day of your vacation! For a change of pace, you could try your hand at fishing. You could fish right off the beach or drive down to San Luis Pass where you could drive your truck right onto the beach. You could spend the day by hopping on a deep sea fishing party boat to catch whatever fish is in season. There are also fishing piers on the Sea Wall. For Golf, there is the Moody Gardens Golf Course (public), as well as the Galveston Country Club (Membership required). If you wake up early enough to meet the sunrise, go to the beach and see it come over the horizon! At night, you can see the moon's reflection right from the beach. NOTE! There IS a community swimming pool on the other side of the highway! There is a tunnel that leads to that area. You can walk there (10 minutes), or drive your car there (across the highway - the tunnel is not big enough to fit cars). We love staying here, it’s the only place we have stayed in Galveston for the last 3 years! The house is so cozy, comfortable, and the neighborhood is calm, peaceful, and welcoming! The fenced in yard and elevator are very helpful. The snacks are healthy, and perfect for the entire family. The beds are so comfortable, the beach towels are convenient, and the list goes on. This property was, by far, our best rental yet: every amenity was provided including many we didn't even know we wanted, the host provided almost instant communication, beautiful, quiet location with nearly private beach, high quality accommodations all around. Not only was it beautiful but very clean and filled with amenities you don't often get at other homes. Luba had reached out and asked how old my children were so that she could buy them age appropriate snacks. Upon arrival there were snacks provided for everyone including a beautiful fruit, cheese and meat basket. They thought of just about everything in case you forgot something. The walk to the beach was less than 5 minutes. They even had a cart, chairs and umbrellas and unlike a lot of houses, had beach towels available. The hosts were also very responsive to any questions. Our family, including our fur babies love it here! Luba is so welcoming! Seashells is very comfortable from the pillows, to bedsheets, to the towels, and to everything she provides! We had two kids under two, and they stocked snacks for them, provided a pack n play, and other toys.
