BEST location on the Gulf! Close to both the beach club and the crossover for the beach. Enjoy sunrise with morning coffee and moonrise with a glass of wine from your private balcony! Because of the bend in Cat Tail Drive, all maps seem to be misleading - We are on the beach! Cat Tail Condo is a 2/2 beach front "Beach Club Villa" condo located at the highly sought after Pointe West Resort on the West End of Galveston. Professionally decorated, well maintained, and ideal for 4 to 6 guests close to the Beach Club and dune walkovers. This 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo has 1095 SQFT and a large patio with entrances from the master bedroom and the living area. The master has a large walk-in shower and double sinks, the guest bath has a bath/shower combo, and both baths have granite counters. The split bedroom floor plan provides for added privacy. The kitchen has a large serving/snack bar, ample cabinets and pantry, stainless appliances, and granite countertops. The living/dining combo allows for easy access and entertaining. As of the spring of 2024, all mattresses are new and the guest bedroom has all new furniture. Thanks to Hurricane Beryl (July 2024), carpeting in the bedrooms has been replaced and upgraded to high quality vinyl flooring. New hurricane proof doors to the porch. January 2026 - completely repainted with new light fixtures and shower door. There is a storage unit in the garage filled with beach chairs, toys, and an umbrella which you are welcome to use. You will need to bring your own beach towels but linens and bath towels are provided for you and the beds will already be made up for your arrival! The kitchen is fully stocked with silverware, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, pots and pans, a combination drip/Keurig coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, blender, electric mixer, and an array of condiments and spices. Of course, if you are on vacation and don't want to cook, there is a restaurant at the Beach Club - hours and availability vary according to the time of year you visit. Once you book CatTail Condo you will receive our welcome letter with more information. You are always welcome to contact us, however, if you have any questions! About Pointe West: The highly sought after Pointe West Resort is a 1000 acre resort located on the picturesque and serene most western tip of Galveston Island near the San Luis Pass. The 3 1/2 mile resort offers a unique part of the island that allows for views of both Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico so you can watch the sunrise and set. Take a scenic tour and easily travel in the underground tunnel to access the beach or bay. There are lakes and lagoons to enjoy the lighted fountains, fishing, kayaking, crabbing, or just to view as you walk, bike, or cruise in your golf cart on the miles of paved pathways surrounding the community. Charcoal grills are conveniently placed throughout the community for your convenience. The Beach Club Villas and Ocean Club Villas are located on the beachside of the resort. Dramatic views of the beach will be a delight as you watch the brilliant sunrise and moonlight shining on the surf. Be amazed by the playful antics of kite surfers and hang gliders. Take a stroll and rest in the shade at the Pavilion which is also a great site for a photo shoot. The Beach Club is a spectacular 8000 SQFT club with 20,000 SQFT of sun decks and offers a panoramic view of the Gulf of Mexico with several dune walkovers over 3 miles of a beautifully maintained beach. An infinity edge pool that looks like it flows right into the beach actually overflows into a children's pool and play area. Sit back and relax with pulsating jets in the hot tub. There are plenty of tables, chairs, and chaises poolside to enjoy all the activity. Work out in the Beach Front Fitness Center with separate men and ladies locker rooms. There is also free WIFI offered at poolside so you can stay connected. An air conditioned Game Room overlooking the pool offers the younger group a place to chill out and play a few games or watch TV. The Gift Shop at poolside is open for snacks, drinks, souvenirs, beach gear and apparel. Two grilling areas with gas grills are located right at poolside so you can prepare your favorite BBQ. If you go across the road to the Bay Villa Condo area, there is much to do, but, without a doubt, you will be amazed at the breathtaking sunsets. Early in the morning and at dusk you will see a multitude of resident island and migrating birds that are abundant in this natural part of the island, so don't forget your binoculars and camera. The avid fisherman wading in the bay is a common sight as this is one of the best fishing spots on the island. You can even stop and get a work out on the outdoor exercise trail. The Sunset Beach Pool is ideal for young children to gradually enter the pool without stairs and also allows for deck chairs to be placed right in the pool. There is also an area under the shade of the palm trees for toddlers to play. Grab a tube and cascade in the lazy river pool as it winds between the tropical palm trees. Relax in the raised hot tub in this serene tropical paradise. Gather with friends and family or meet some new friends to watch the sunset at the 2 story lanai or just lounge and enjoy your favorite drink or a casual meal. A grilling area with a gas grill is available for you prepare a BBQ dinner in this picturesque setting. We stayed for the first time in mid July from Friday to Friday. This is our second time at Pointe West and fifth year in Galveston. The condo has very thoughtful provisions, especially if you have young boys! Nice touches like no bunk beds, an indoor wagon, an additional beach wagon, and black out curtains in the childrens room were much appreciated as well as ample consumable supplies. They had great games like Sequence and Uno and some big puzzles. All of our communication was straightforward. This is a well managed condo. Linens were clean and fresh. Surfaces were clean. Proper pest control is in place.I recommend Kroger pick up for groceries before heading out to Point West. Kroger did a good job. The condo has more comfortable seating than pictured on the patio and we enjoyed meals out there. We spent almost every night at the Sunset heated pool and heated lazy river on the bayside. The hot tub is excellent! Next time we visit, we will pack our marshmallow roasters for the fire pit over there. The food is fantastic at the restaurant. Their gluten free homemade hamburger buns were a treat on an even more impressive burger. The pizza is good too!Our elevator was working well. When it had a slight hesitation a repair man was there immediately and kept checking on it. This was reassuring! We look forward to returning, hopefully to this condo and Point West. It was a perfect condo layout for us. The pools were great and being on the beach was perfect! The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked breakfast each morning and a few dinners. We’ve never stayed in a condo that has so many amenities (very well stocked kitchen, extra blankets, fans, two beach wagons, etc). Our family of 5, with every one being over 15 and adult sized, fit very comfortably. The balcony and the view was my favorite part. And the walk to the beach truly is not that far. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. It was just me and my spouse so there was plenty of room. The condo was very comfortable, clean and well decorated The amenities of Pointe West were also amazing. The restaurant and bar were excellent as was the swimming pool. It was an easy walk to the clubhouse. Lots of small chairs and beach toys were provided. Bring a wagon to take your stuff to the beach. ##### Sandy L. No need for a golf cart around resort but super fun. Bring bug spray. Basic groceries 15 min away. Very well appointed condo. Everyone really nice and relaxed. Clean and very comfortable for our family of 4\. Thank you! Only negative is a desperate need for some free shade at pools. Having to pay for cabana is not right.
