The property is inserted in a recent building and located in the Piornais, an area of excellence, which has the advantage of being quiet and close to the touristic area of Funchal. It has a kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and a living room with access to the balcony, where you can relax and contemplate the different colors of the sky in the late afternoon. In the common area of the building, you will find a swimming pool shared by the condominium, where you can enjoy a swim and sunbathe in the company of friends and family. For those who love exercise, the building has a well-equipped gym. With a contemporary style and minimalist decor, the property has a maximum capacity for four people and is fully equipped with all the facilities and amenities for a restful vacation in the company of family or friends. The apartment has one parking space in the building's garage. AREA Located in a place with easy access to several restaurants. There is a cafe, a fruit shop and a bakery 500 meters away. The nearest shopping center is a 2-minute drive or 15-minute walk from the apartment. It is a 4-minute drive or 15-minute walk away from Praia Formosa beach. If you prefer to take a dip in the natural pools at Doca do Cavacas, know that you are 18 minutes away if you go on foot or 4 minutes away if you choose to go by car. You are also a few minutes' walk from the Amparo Public Garden, a leisure park for adults and children. GETTING AROUND The best option to get to the apartment will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport. If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address. To get to the center of Funchal, there are bus stops nearby. ACCESS TO PROPERTY You have access to all areas of the flat. INTERACTION We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply to all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay. OTHER OBSERVATIONS \- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card). \- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team. \- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair, and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers, and fire blanket on the property. ATTENTION Please be advised that a Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Funchal. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained. We received fresh linens and bedsheets every Monday, which was a really nice touch. Communication with the host was super easy and smooth throughout our stay. The location is excellent, close to everything, though if you’re walking, be prepared for a steep hill from the main road — consider it a built-in workout! The parking spot on the Garage had aparently a dificult acess but we always had parking spots on the street, for free. The road in front of the building is very noisy, we can hear the traffic early in the morning in the room situated on that side. The back room was very quiet. There is a construction behind the building but that noise didn't bother us. However, it brought a lot of dust into the apartment. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice and comfortable balcony. Very good bakeries and restaurants nearby (especially the Italian Pizzeria Lume). Shopping center, pharmacies, Praia Formosa beach close to the apartment. We had a car but there is a bus station in front of the building. Well equipped kitchen, coffee machine, toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and everything for cleaning. The water heater in the kitchen was very noisy but only when we opened the hot water. May 2, 2022 #### Piornais Residence I The apartment is well equipped and in excellent condition. We were two couples staying, so it was great to have two modern bathrooms and plenty of space to spread out. We also enjoyed the pool area, which was very welcomed on hot days or when returning from a long day out exploring. The apartment is situated a bit out from the main town. This was good for us as we did not want to be caught up in the hustle and bustle of the main town or tourist area. There was a good bus service to and from the city centre at the end of the hill. We also discovered some very good local bars and restaurants nearby. The apartment is also situated about 10 minutes walking distance from the popular 'Forum' shopping centre containing many clothing and food shops as well as various restaurants and cafes. There is also a lovely swimming area near the Forum shopping area. It is very attractive being sea water and created around the rocks. Booking the apartment with, 'An Island Apart' was very easy and trouble free. The personnel are very efficient and friendly. We were especially grateful to them, as on the day of departure, we had a late flight back to London and they arranged a late check out and also a taxi to the airport. I would definitely book this apartment again, however, it may not be suitable for those who finding walking uphill difficult. There is also a busy road outside and a building site nearby, however this won't be there for ever. ##### Gillian S.
